    Job Summary:

    The Location Manager at Xanterra Parks and Resorts is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring adherence to company standards, and fostering a positive work environment for staff while enhancing guest satisfaction. This role includes managing employee housing, addressing personnel issues, and collaborating with department leaders to maintain operational excellence and safety across the location.

    The Details:
    Position Type: Seasonal
    Season Dates: late-April through mid-October 2025 (exact dates vary by location)
    Pay: Starting at $1,944.00 bi-weekly (subject to change for 2025)
    Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

    This position is required to live in dormitory-style housing. Not able to accommodate RVers.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with department managers and directors to ensure departmental standards are frequently monitored and are met or exceeded, and a commitment to excellent employee performance is instilled.
    • Ensure Xanterra standards and policies are executed across all departments in a consistent manner.
    • Oversee all off duty employee personnel issues and opportunities including employee housing, organization of employee recognition, events and outings.
    • Greet new staff and give short tour of the housing area, rules, and regulations.
    • Create events, promote and help manage employee recreation efforts at the property.
    • Oversee the employee housing dorm cleaners to ensure standards are maintained in employee housing as well conduct weekly employee housing inspections.
    • Work closely with Human Resources and departmental managers to ensure employee experience expectations are met. Including housing, recreation, safety, and performance.
    • Ensure that all employee complaints, regardless of the issue, are turned over to the Human Resources Department immediately. Lead and/or participate in investigations as needed.
    • Respond positively and empathetically to all guest complaints with the objective of solving the problem to the satisfaction of both the guest and the Company prior to the departure of the guest.
    • Review guest survey feedback and follow up as necessary.
    • Lead the weekly location department Manager Meeting.
    • Lead the immediate follow-up of all deficiencies noted on National Park Service Evaluations working with maintenance and other department managers/directors.
    • Ensure that proper lost and found procedures are followed by all personnel at the location.
    • Continuously evaluate safety concerns throughout all departments, and inside and outside housing buildings. Work with Safety and Security leads on property to instill a safety oriented culture.
    • Maintain a daily manager’s log of all events taking place on location. Entries into the manager’s log are to be professional and represent an objective view of all employee and guest issues that have taken place during the course of the operating season.
    • Enforce all Company policies and procedures as determined by Xanterra Parks and Resorts.
    • Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Possess outstanding leadership skills.
    • Must be able to demonstrate excellent organization, time management, must be goal oriented, and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Must be flexible and adaptable to dynamic situations and have good decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to deescalate high pressure situations in regards to guest’s visits and employee life.
    • Ability to create a welcoming and engaging environment for our on property seasonal employees. This includes creating a variety of events and programs throughout the summer. Employee engagement and guest satisfaction is crucial to ensure a successful summer in Glacier National Park.
    • Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and comply with Xanterra Driver Safety Program and Policy.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Stand and/or walk up to eight hours per shift.
    • Requires bending, kneeling, stretching and reaching throughout a shift.
    • Must be able to climb stairs.
    • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, including icy and snow covered areas.
    • Working safely with required chemicals.
    • Disposition suitable for extensive public contact.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the cleanliness of public restrooms throughout the facility. This includes but is not limited to mopping, emptying trash, cleaning bathroom toilets, stalls, walls, sweeping, wiping counters, mirrors, bathroom vents, and floor drains.
    • Ensure that the restrooms are stocked with soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and air fresheners.
    • Inventory and maintain supply levels.
    • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in or around public areas with the primary focus being all public restrooms.
    • Make sure Personal Protective Equipment practices are always followed.
    • Follow Company and departmental environmental practices, safety practices, and policies and procedures
    • Willing to undertake any other tasks.

    Qualifications

    • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
    • Able to work alone, with minimal supervision throughout the workday to ensure productivity.
    • Able to effectively and professionally communicate with both employees and guests.
    • Have the ability to support housekeeping team to reach common goals and deadlines.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day.
    • Cleaning bathroom facilities including toilets, stalls, and walls which require near constant, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching as needed for up to 8 hours per shift.
    • Standing for long periods of time, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day.
    • Working safely with required chemicals.

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications

    • Must have strong and effective verbal communication and writing skills.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age per National Park Service.

    • Have basic computer skills including Microsoft Word & Outlook.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Must be able to work variety of shifts: day, evening, and graveyard.
    • Must be able to work continuously up to ten hours or more
    • Must be able to work a rotation schedule.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate waste/recycling removal in accordance with established schedule.
    • Sanitation and recycling trucks are provided. Employee is responsible for returning truck to staging locations at end of each shift.
    • Inspection vehicles pre/post shift for maintenance or operating needs; report all safety concerns to management.
    • Clean assigned vehicle to ensure professional appearance and to reduce the potential for wildlife attraction.
    • Safely operate vehicles and equipment.
    • Maintain and update daily pick-up records and landfill disposal weights.
    • Provide solid waste/recycling education as requested.
    • Follow environmental and safety practices, policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Be a minimum of (21) years of age.
    • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License, pass DOT physical exam, and pre-employment/random drug screens, and comply with Xanterra Driver Safety Program.
    • Ability to operate box trucks (one ton) and lift gates.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, and/or lift continuously during an 8-10 hour shift.
    • Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
    • Ability to work in various weather conditions.

    Responsibilities

    • Determine specific work assignments (scheduling and daily list assignments) for Housekeeping team according to the staffing guides and occupancy levels.

    Responsibilities

    • May be assigned as Host, Food Runner, or Table Maintenance positions.     Responsibilities

    • Heavy cleaning of lobby, public porches, walkways, and hallways. May be assigned cleaning duties in recreation rooms. Cleans public restrooms and surrounding areas.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Act as the Location Manager in their absence.

    • Maintain a daily manager’s log of all events taking place on location. Entries into the manager’s log are to be professional and represent an objective view of all employee and guest issues that have taken place during the course of the operating season.

    Qualifications

    • Be knowledgeable of the National Park and all of its facilities and activities so that information given to guests is informative and accurate.
    • Possess strong organizational, leadership and computer abilities; and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with immediate staff and all levels of management within the company.
    • Be friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers; be able to handle guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner; use tact and discretion due to exposure to confidential matters; and be team oriented.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures all National Park Service (NPS)-required National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) compliance is planned and executed with Xanterra: Glacier National Park Lodges Engineering Administration and Project Management in accordance with company Standards.
    • Possess working knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties.
    • EPA RRP Certification, ability to obtain DOT license.
    • Plan, deliver, and document Historic Preservation training and ensure it is delivered to Parkwide Engineering and Maintenance Management personnel. Training will include a combination of annual historic preservation maintenance in classroom and hands-on. Responsible for the continuous training, development, enhancement and implementation of historic maintenance procedures with all seasonal location maintenance teams.
    • Ability to effectively manage the Parkwide Carpenters directly, including routine communication with Engineering Admin team for assistance or collaboration with other Parkwide Engineering staff. Must also diligently upkeep Historic Preservation Team calendar/schedule/deadlines.
    • Conduct Haz Mat surveys and mitigate removal of materials including but not limited to asbestos, lead paint, mold and animal roosting/nesting/excrement pre-project.
    • Appropriately represent the company through high levels of professionalism, adhering to policy and procedure, supporting performance management with staff, and supporting the operational goals of the park.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Historic Preservation and 2 years of hands-on preservation maintenance experience, including knowledge of historic structures and materials.
    • 5 years professional managerial and supervisory level experience.

    Education:

    • Post Secondary Preferred, Certification in EPA RRP & Documented NPS Preservation Workshops

    Work Environment:

    • Indoor and Outdoor in Glacier National Park, varying terrain/state of repair.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • Project scoping, Project Completion and Documentation. Parkwide Carpenter Crew supervision, Maintenance Management Supervision.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Must be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
    • Must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 51 pounds.
    • Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the day.
    • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time.
    • Working safely with required chemicals, tools, and equipment.
