Pahaska Tepee is nestled in the Shoshone National Forest and bordered by two clear mountain streams. We are located one hour west of the nearest town of Cody, WY, just 2 miles outside Yellowstone National Park's east entrance.

Historic Pahaska Tepee is a family owned resort in the mountains of Wyoming. Our resort offers cabin-style lodging, a restaurant and bar, a fantastic gift shop and a convenience store. Trail rides are also offered on property.
Our aim is to provide amazing customer service and Wyoming hospitality. Our employees are expected to work hard and are rewarded with great pay and schedules allowing time to enjoy our spectacular country. Pahaska Tepee is a family-owned business with a peak season staff of about 50 employees. You'll know everybody's name and we'll know yours. We pride ourselves with not being the corporate environment and being more people/employee oriented.
Plus, you will be living in one of the most unique locations in the world! Historic Pahaska Tepee, Buffalo Bill's 1904 "Gem of the Rockies", was built in the heart of our nation's first National Forest (Shoshone), next to our nation's first National Park (Yellowstone), and on both sides are America's two largest wilderness areas in the lower 48 states (North Absaroka and Washakie)! Our frequent visitors are buffalo, moose, bears, foxes and occasionally, wolves.
We try to schedule you to work 35-40 hours per week. Over 40 hours is considered overtime and paid at one and half times your hourly wage. We offer a healthy bonus if you stay through your hiring contract date. We try to give you schedule your days off together.
The ideal candidate should have a love of the outdoors, a desire to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a strong work ethic. All employees must be 18 years or older and are expected to exhibit proper hygiene, a neat appearance and maintain a clean living environment.
We expect our employees to provide guests with western hospitality and always have a positive “can-do” attitude. Our employees should be motivated by service with a strong dedication to honesty, integrity and courtesy. Leave the negative attitudes at home and come enjoy Wyoming's great outdoors!

Our season runs from May 10th through October 13th. We hire most employees for the entire season, however we also have needs for partial season employees (2 month minimum). We want to hire people who are excited to work in a new location, meet new people and make lifelong friendships.
Our housing is dormitory style and are no-smoking or vaping. Most likely you will have one or two same-sex roommates and a shared bathroom. Quiet hours are 10pm to 9am. Everyone must be respectful of shared spaces and each other. Sorry, we do not have housing for families or pets. In our employee dining room, we provide three well-balanced meals per day for a small fee.
At Pahaska, we all work together, live together, play together and form friendships that can last forever.
We work hard to give you 2 days off in a row so you can take advantage of this great country! While workdays can keep you running, we encourage everyone to use their off time to recharge with nature and enjoy new adventures. The spectacular Wapiti Valley is full of endless hiking trails and other outdoor opportunities and they are all free!
We have an employee TV and rec room and limited satellite internet access. We have no cell phone service but Wi-Fi calling seems to work.
Employees are encouraged to take a 1 or 2 hour trail ride at no charge. Additional rides are 50% off. Employees are also given a 20% discount in our gift shop. Visiting family will receive generous discounts on accommodations.
You are responsible for getting to Cody, Wyoming. From there, if you don't have your own transportation let us know and we will pick you up in Cody between the hours of 9am and 7pm.
Cody (COD) has a small airport accessible from Denver (DEN) via United.
If you are driving, take highway 14-16-20 west from Cody for an incredibly scenic one hour trip through the spectacular Wapiti Valley. If you are planning on driving through Yellowstone, we are just outside the East Entrance.
Blue ribbon trout fishing and miles of hiking trails are right at your doorstep. Take a trail ride or just kick back and enjoy the scenery. For photography enthusiasts, the opportunities are endless. Mountains, wildlife, and Yellowstone National Park are right out the window. In Cody, there are the 5 museums of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, the Cody Nite Rodeo, river floats, Old Trail Town and a full slate of summer concerts and events scheduled for 2024.
