Currently recruiting for the season from June 11th, 2024 to August 12th, 2024.

Camp Modin, a 103-year-old premier, co-ed residential camp is looking for dynamic and dedicated individuals to make a difference in the lives of children. Located on a private, unspoiled lake in Maine, our friendly atmosphere provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and develop lifelong friendships. Modin has over 60 activities!

About Camp Modin

Situated in the pristine wilderness of Maine’s beautiful Belgrade Lakes region, Camp Modin is one of the oldest private camps in New England. Modin has over 60 athletic, waterfront, creative arts, and pioneering activities. Take advantage of our top-notch facilities while meeting new and exciting people. Our community consists of 400 campers who enjoy a community-oriented environment in which they can learn, grow and develop lifelong friendships. Summer camp is a place to grow, learn, and discover. Being a Camp Modin staff member is a tradition of caring, educating, guiding, and nurturing children that dates back over a century.

Modin is more than beautiful facilities and exciting programs. Modin is a community, and its people make the experience truly rewarding. When you work at Modin, you are more than just a staff member. Not only do we want you to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of children, but we want you to have fun! At camp, you will go waterskiing and climb mountains. You will go to the beach and watch movies under the stars. You will sing songs around a roaring campfire and you will eat tons of ice cream and pizza! In short, you will have an opportunity to do everything your campers do and more.

Camp Modin provides free room, board, meals, and laundry for all of our staff for the entire summer

Employee Perks

All of our staff have access to our gym/fitness center, our game room, and our lounge in the evenings! We also provide transportation on staff days off so that they can explore the beautiful state of Maine and all the region has to offer. Staff also get regular evenings off each week. 

Our staff also get to partake in fun and exciting activities daily and will get to go on trips to the movies, bowling, mini-golf, etc. free of charge! Come to Modin for the best summer of your life!

Getting Here and Getting Around

We assist with transportation to and from camp at the beginning and end of the summer. Staff are welcomed to bring cars if they have them, but we also provide transportation on staff days off.

Many of our staff, from a variety of majors, have been able to get internship credit through their schools. We provide great salaries, as well as housing, laundry, and meals for the summer. Come to Camp Modin to have the best summer of your life!

     

    A little bit about the job: As a counselor, you would be working and living in a cabin with a group of children (our kids range from 7-16 years) and participating in activities, sports, field trips, etc. What sets Modin apart is the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake, a tight-knit community, and our state-of-the-art facilities.

     

    Our Golf Specialists are responsible for teaching campers how to golf and instruct our students on the basics--- from hitting the ball to holding the club to proper form and etiquette. Golf Instructors work on our driving range and are able to bring their own games and lessons to the program. They also often participate in trips to a local golf course. We do not have a golf course of our own.

     

    You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:

    Nurses needed for a prestigious residential camp located on Salmon Lake in Belgrade, Maine, from approximately June 11, 2024- August 11, 2024. We are looking for two additional student nurses or recent grads (must be 21+ for driving purposes) for the summer.

    Situated in the pristine wilderness of Maine’s beautiful Belgrade Lakes region, Camp Modin is one of the oldest private camps in New England. Our community consists of 400 campers who enjoy a community-oriented environment where they can learn, grow, and develop lifelong friendships. Camp Modin employs 190 professional teachers, mentors, and counselors, all dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.

    Responsibilities include working with our Head RN of sixteen years to supervise, treat, and care for our population of campers and staff. Duties include dispensing medications, handling medical emergencies, scheduling appointments, treating patients, maintaining health records, and driving to local appointments.

    Our top-notch modern medical facility is complete with a state-of-the-art touch-screen medical system. The facility is large, fully air-conditioned, and contains private living quarters for medical staff. The infirmary includes a spacious treatment room, a private examination room, a large wardroom, and an isolation room.

    Salaries and benefits are highly competitive and include room and board, laundry, use of camp facilities, and days off.

    What sets Modin apart is our tight-knit community, our facilities, and the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake. Our breathtaking facilities include over one hundred watercraft, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a gymnastics gym, a dance studio, three soccer fields, a new baseball facility, a trapeze, a street hockey rink, brand new tennis and pickleball courts, and more!

     

    Our Pioneering Specialists are responsible for our Outdoor Pursuits and Adventures program. This program includes our Climbing Wall, our new High and Low Ropes courses, our Zipline, our Canoeing, Kayaking, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding program, and our overnight camping trips. As a Pioneering Specialist, you would be responsible for running overnight camping trips at our pioneering village, as well as leading hikes and other adventures (examples include boating trips, repelling trips, etc). You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:

    A little bit about the job: As a counselor, you would be working and living in a cabin with a group of children (our kids range from 7-16 years) and participating in activities, sports, field trips, etc. What sets Modin apart is the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake and as a Waterski instructor, you would work on our four brand-new 2024 tournament Malibu boats.

     

    Our Waterski Specialists are responsible for driving our boats and teaching kids how to Waterski, Wakeboard, Kneeboard, Tube, and Wake Surf. You would be in charge of upholding our safety standards and allowing the kids to experience a variety of watersports, while working on a team of 10-16 other instructors. You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:

    • Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Floor Hockey, Lacrosse, Tennis, Pickleball, Gymnastics
