About ALASKA 360
We’ve provided award-winning tours to customers from around the world for more than 20 years, bringing to life some of Alaska’s most famous highlights. We offer guests a full view of Alaskan life both past and present. Dredge Town transports guests back to the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898 and 1899. Our different tour options feature amazing encounters with sled dogs and puppies, a heaping dose of gold fever, a private tour of one of the last authentic Klondike dredges in the world, a BBQ lunch, and a campfire filled with surprises and much more. We blend entertainment with fun lead by period-costumed guides to make the excitement of the gold rush come alive for our guests.

Our Guides get to develop their own character’s backstory and style in keeping with the story of the Klondike Gold Rush. You could be one of Soapy Smith’s notorious gang members, or a shopkeeper who mined the miners. A prospector? A teacher? We want it to be fun for you to portray the character you create.
Depending on your position at Alaska 360, you might spoil our guests with culinary delights, teach guests anything from how to pan for gold, to helping them imagine what it would have been like to be a gold seeker in our gold rush training camp, or help guests in choosing a cherished memento to take home from their Alaskan adventure! Like to sing? We have sing-along campfires on some tours. Dance, juggle, magic tricks, comedy, or teach? We have a place for you here. Multiple tour combinations translate into new adventures every day.
Ideal Candidate
Though our season is short, we are looking for staff that are committed to taking our guests on unforgettable Alaskan adventures from the first day of the season to the last.
Our ideal candidates are enthusiastic, team-oriented and positive individuals with a “can do” attitude that can work in an ever-changing environment and have fun doing it.
Required skills and qualifications vary according to different job profiles, but we are actively seeking candidates who possess one or more of the following skills and/or experience:
• Strong communication skills
• Outgoing and energetic personality
• Performing experience in singing, acting, magic, music, puppetry, juggling,
poetry, musical instrument, comedy, etc.
• Teaching background
• Sales experience
• Customer service experience
• Culinary and/or restaurant experience
• Managerial experience
Our preferred availability is last week of April through the end of September. However, we understand life happens, so please contact us if interested and we can see what works for everyone. Candidates must be 21 or older.
Live abroad? No Prob! We accept applications from international applicants on a J-1 visa and appropriate documents.

Room and Board
We offer not only affordable, but one of the best in town company housing to our staff members.
Rent ($300/month) as well as a refundable housing deposit is deducted directly from your biweekly paychecks, so no money is needed upfront. Alaska 360 covers all other housing costs including heat, water, garbage and electricity.
Housing options can vary from season to season as we have a few different housing locations. Staff should expect double occupancy rooms. All tenants share the kitchens, dining, living, and laundry rooms. Most bathrooms are also shared.
We do everything we can to make sure that you are comfortable in your home away from home. As such, all units have full kitchens that include supplies such as dishes, utensils, pots, and pans. Each house also includes a washer/dryer, though you will need to provide your own laundry detergent. If you are living in company housing, you will also need to bring your own bedding and towels.
Internet is not included by the company but is available at the expense of the employee directly from Alaska Power and Telephone (APT). It is also offered for free at the public library, and cost-effective hotspots are located throughout town.
All facilities are non-smoking and do not allow pets.
If you choose not to reside in employee housing, it is best to start looking for alternative housing at your earliest opportunity. The demand for seasonal housing is extremely high, so apartments and houses can be not only quite expensive, but very difficult to find.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Getting here: You have three choices – Air, Land, or Sea.
By Air: The closest major airport to Skagway is Juneau, Alaska, and the only major airline presently flying into Juneau that get you there for our season begin and end times is Alaska Airlines. Once there, you can fly to Skagway on a 45-minute commuter flight using Alaska Seaplanes which flies to Skagway each day, weather permitting.
By Land: If you are traveling by car or an RV, you'll join the growing number of visitors who travel the Alaska Highway each year. Skagway is only 110 miles south from the Alaska Highway, via the South Klondike Highway. The lakes of the Yukon and British Columbia that you'll pass along the way are the headwaters of the great Yukon River. This modern two-lane highway is an easy scenic drive.
By Sea: Skagway is the northern terminus of the Alaska Marine Highway System. A fleet of modern, car-carrying vessels serves all of Southeast Alaska. Northbound travelers can access the system at Bellingham, Washington and Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Each vessel has an observation lounge, bar, cafeteria and a solarium where camping is allowed free of charge. Mainline vessels also feature stateroom accommodation.
The Alaska Marine Highway ferry also makes weekly runs between Juneau and Skagway, which can be a less expensive option if you can arrive in Juneau before the afternoon departure. The Alaskan Marine Highway ferry terminal is about a four-mile cab ride from the Juneau airport. NOTE – as of early January 2023, the ferry is not scheduled to come to Skagway regularly. We will continue to update this information as it changes.
Upon your arrival in Skagway, someone from our staff will greet you and bring you to Alaska 360’s housing, give you a quick tour of the town, and our site, Dredge Town.
Once here, a car isn't necessary unless you want to venture out of town. You can easily get around on foot or by bike. Bikes can be purchased at discounted pricing at the beginning of the season from a local bike retailer and bike tour operator.
For Fun
We know that after working hard, we all also want to play hard. Explore the town and its many craft breweries, restaurants, and live music venues – and don’t forget it’s daylight until about 11PM pretty much through the entire summer! Skagway has amazing access to the natural beauty that surrounds us. There are numerous hiking trails (including the world famous Chilkoot Trail), backcountry cabins available to rent, and opportunities for various outdoor activities from biking, fishing, to kayaking.
Sports enthusiasts can participate in the local softball or soccer leagues and various other athletic events throughout the season. Fitness buffs can join the recreation center and take advantage of various classes and group sports along with use of the gym.
More into festivals? Choose between Summer Solstice, Independence Day or the Southeast Alaska State Fair and the Brew Fest in Haines. Thinking about travel options? Simply plan a weekend trip to Whitehorse in the Yukon or Alaska’s capital Juneau.
