- Monitors the safe and efficient operation of engineering machinery, equipment, and spaces. Enters monitoring data in logs.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment on board.
- Responsible for the condition, proper operation, maintenance, and repair of all vessel engineering systems and processes:
- Deck hydraulic systems
- Refrigeration plant
- Pump ashore all waste water
- Maintain domestic Water levels and order water as necessary.
- Heating and ventilation systems
- Assist with all, watch standing, and operating regulations
- Assist in monitoring of maintenance programs on all main systems and engineering systems
- Attend and participate in all company sponsored training programs as well as outside training in management or engineering related courses
- Participates as a lifeboat crewmember and a firefighting and emergency response team leader. Expected to take initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instructions.

- First aid & CPR certified; lifeguarding, water rescue, kayak instruction helpful, WFR a plus.
- 1 to 2 years of previous guiding experience in an outdoor environment preferred, but not required.

- Prioritize the safety of your vehicle and guests by driving carefully through a highway and town;
- Ensure safe and efficient boarding / disembarkation of guests with the Transportation Coordinators;

- Responsible for patrolling restricted and non-restricted areas on the Ward Cove dock, facilities, and property, reporting any breach of security to appropriate personnel;
- Ensures embarking is controlled. Responsible for vehicle and traffic control accessing the dock;
- Understands and implements various Maritime Security (MARSEC) Level changes and implements required port enforcement action;
- Work with USCG, local authorities, and cruise lines in maintaining safety and guest satisfaction;

- Be the first point of contact for residents and be responsible for handling all resident inquiries and requests.
- Responsible for handling resident check-ins and check-outs.

- Maintaining a vigilant watch over the safety of the vessel by conducting frequent rounds in spaces where flooding, fire or other situations could be detrimental to the vessel.
- Tend and adjust mooring lines as needed and monitor the transfer bridge and apron for tidal changes and weather conditions.
- Maintain safe conditions in all areas that resident related traffic occurs including transfer bridge, access ramps, vessel interior and exterior decks and areas surrounding the terminal as needed throughout the night watch hours.
- Make sure all doors, windows, entrances and exits are securely closed and locked in evening;
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash at POS registers in cafeteria;
- Assist with monitoring inventories of supplies; ensuring venues are clean and in top condition;
- May assist with serving meals and bussing tables.

The Resident Services Representative (RSR) is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to guests aboard the MV Malaspina, the first ferry that was built for the State of Alaska and now owned by Ward Cove Dock Group (WCDG), providing housing for seasonal employees. Lead Mechanic
The Mechanic will inspect, service, and maintain a diesel and gas-powered vehicle fleet.
