Howdy! We are looking for a seasoned cook to join our team for the busy summer season. Dates are flexible, but ideally would be approximately May through October. We can certainly work with you regarding taking time off if you have a trip or event planned. (However, we would need to know well in advance.) We have an established menu that we expect all our cooks to learn, but also appreciate creativity in helping design specials and cater events. Our menu includes steaks, salmon, burgers, pasta, appetizers, and homemade desserts to name some favorites.
Our ideal candidate would be able to work at least 40 hours per week, sometimes more if we have a lot going on that week. A typical day might be cooking breakfast from approximately 7 am to 10 am and then dinner shift from about 4 pm to 9 pm. For our experienced cooks, dinner will be the priority. During off hours you can relax in privacy in the staff quarters or explore the local area. You will have a large bedroom and bathroom to yourself. The house has wifi, washer and dryer, private outdoor sitting area, full kitchen, and wildlife viewing. It's possible we will have other part time employees staying in the other bedrooms and therefore sharing the common areas.
We are a very small operation in a very small community. The hotel has 12 rooms, and any overnight guests we have usually join us for dinner and breakfast. We are also open to the public for dinner and breakfast. Due to having a very small staff, we're not usually open for walk-in lunch unless a group makes plans ahead of time to come in or take a to-go lunch.
On your days off....You will never want to leave this beautiful place! ;) However, should you want to enjoy a day out, Laramie is under an hour away. It's home to the University, a nice big Walmart, and much more. Saratoga is a fun daytrip about 45 minutes away and has hot springs, restaurants and bars, and tourist activities. Scenic drives, National forests, and other historic sites abound here in Wyoming. Carbon County, Wyoming Travel & Vacation Information (wyomingcarboncounty.com)
Our culture is very family oriented. Several of our team members are very young, and it is of utmost importance to us that they have a safe, encouraging, professional workplace. Getting along, having fun, and always treating each other respectfully is super important to us. Flexibility, good communication, and a can-do attitude help our small team exceed guests' expectations on a daily basis.
