    Wage: DOE, Hourly, $20-$25 suggested range, and Incentives

    Job Summary: 

    Communication, marketing, public relations, and sales.

    General Duties: 

    The Communications Lead is responsible for professional, consistent, enthusiastic communication, both internally and externally, on behalf of Glacier Guides and Montana Raft and its lodging properties.

    The primary goals of the Communications Lead are to communicate:

    • Why guests should choose to adventure and stay with Glacier Guides and Montana Raft;

    • Why guides and support staff should want to work at Glacier Guides and Montana Raft; and 

    • What clients, employees, and the public should know about Glacier Guides and Montana Raft, and the greater Glacier National Park area, in  a timely fashion.

    Communications are generally focused on current conditions in and around Glacier National Park and current events at Glacier Guides and Montana Raft in an effort to actively solicit all types of individuals, businesses, travel agents, clubs, groups, etc for rafting, hiking, fishing, biking, rental, and lodging business.

    Job Relationships: 

    • This position reports directly to the company’s Leadership Team, i.e. owners, managers, and other key stakeholders. 

    • This position supervises: none.

    Job Specifications:

    • Education: A four year college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

    • Experience: required.

    • Passion for the Flathead River System, Glacier National Park, Glacier Guides and Montana Raft, and the symbiotic relationship between them.

    • Understanding of the established Glacier Guides and Montana Raft brand, and the dedication required to both preserve and to further it.

    • Capability for independent work and also to work as part of a team.

    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

    • Established or growing leadership skills.

    • Enthusiasm for organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks.

    • The Communications Lead assists, as time allows, in the company’s main reservation office. Answering phone calls, e-mails, chat messages, and website comments, and processing the reservations that flow from these communications, is at times a substantial portion of the Communications Lead’s day. The ideal candidate will successfully self-manage his or her time in balancing office duties and communications responsibilities.

    Helpful Skill Sets:

    • Social Media Expert, including Analytics for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.

    • Written Content Creation, including blogs, newsletters, emails, social media posts

    • Video content creation including reels, Tiktok, Youtube, promotions and more

    • Wordpress

    • Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profiles, general understanding of Google Ads a plus

    • Google Business Suite: All Applications, i.e. Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.

    • Mailchimp

    • Photography, Videography

    • Event Planning

    • Public Relations and Public Speaking

    • Publicity, i.e. Media Relations and Press Releases

    Job Schedule:

    • 8 hour day shift

    • Some evenings, holidays, and weekends

    • Willingness for some travel/events.

    • Work Remotely, DOE.

    Work Location: 

    • One location, This position is based out of Glacier Guides and Montana Raft’s main office at 11970 Highway 2 East, West Glacier, Montana.

    Work Environment:

    • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

    • Able to be seated at a desk and computer work station for extended periods of time daily.

    • Ability to stand for hours at a time.

    • Ability to walk, tour and inspect properties, river access points, and trailheads as necessary.

    • Must be able to participate in rafting, hiking, fishing, and biking activities.

    • Non-smoking, non-vaping environment.

    Shop

    Maintenance/Bike Mechanic

    $15.00 / hour
    West Glacier

    May through September. $15 per hour plus end of season bonus pay.

    This position is a little bit of everything. Position runs from mid-May to mid-September. Here is just a sample of the type of tasks that could be asked of you (but not limited to):

    - bike maintenance and repairing bikes

    - help load boats

    - clean life jackets/ booties/ tents/ sleeping bags

    - help in our kitchen

    - recycling tasks

    - help with providing shuttles

    - mow the lawn

    - pick weeds

    - clean bathrooms

    - clean vans/busses

    - porter on select backpacking trips

    No experience is necessary for this position, just a positive and hard working personality.

    Valid driver's license preferred. Must be able to take direction well, be self motivated, and follow through with little supervision. Sense of humor is a plus.

    Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs on a regular basis.

    Kitchen

    Commercial Kitchen Staff

    $15.00 / hour
    West Glacier

    June through Labor Day.  $15 per hour plus end of season bonus pay.

    - Supports rafting, hiking, fishing, and biking trips

    - Work with guides on menus and preparations

    - Prepares food for trips (salads, fruit/meat/cheese trays, etc) 

    - Stocking and refilling bins 

    - Cleaning kitchen 

    - Recycling tasks 

    All food handlers must make sure their work area and kitchen is clean and following health department policies and standards. Knowledge of nutrition, dietary restrictions and sustainable food options are preferred. Qualifications: Upbeat and flexible attitude, good sense of humor, and likes to cook.

    Housekeeping

    Housekeeping

    $18.00 / hour
    West Glacier

    Housekeeping: May through September. $18 per hour plus end of season bonus pay.

    We have a clean and comfortable 12 room eco-friendly lodge, and 2 different 3 bedroom guest houses, located in West Glacier. This position requires an upbeat attitude with an attention to detail. We have full and part time seasonal positions May through mid-October. Full time shift is 5 days a week from 9 to 2 sometimes 3 PM. Job duties include room cleaning, laundry and assist with checking in guests. Minor yard work and general building maintenance.

    Support Staff

    CDL Bus Driver

    $27.00 / hour
    West Glacier

    Bus Driver with CDL and air brakes: June through August

    Schedule: 4-5 days per week. 9:30 until 4-6 (depending on trip schedule).

    Required: Clean driving record, must pass physical and drug/alcohol test, backing up and driving with trailers. Commercial Driving License (CDL) with air brake endorsement required. Must have a friendly, fun and flexible attitude. 

    Responsibilities: Daily inspections and keeping vehicles logs up to date. Fueling vehicles. Driving vans, mini busses, or large passenger bus with a trailer of rafts to and from river put ins. Daily cleaning of vans/busses (interior, exterior, and windows). Works with vehicle manager, mechanic, and rafting manager to operate safe, timely shuttles.
