Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe

Pastry chef and owner Anita Golton and husband Brian Kingsbury built "the Squirrel" in 2009. Serving creative, delicious sweets and hearty, wholesome foods, we proudly source ingredients from Alaska when possible including from our local family farm. Creative, healthful, deli-style breakfast & lunch, artisan breads & pastries, and wood fired pizzas are available year round.

At the northern reaches of flying squirrel habitat, our humble cafe is located 3 miles from the funky, popular, tourist-centric town of Talkeetna, Alaska. With boreal semi-wild Alaska forests surrounding the cafe, Flying Squirrel has hiking trails out the back door and a paved bike path across the street. Talkeetna is 2 hour's drive north of Anchorage and 3 hours south of Denali National Park.
