Cape Fox Tours is a tourism company located in Ketchikan, Alaska. We operate guided cultural, culinary and historical land excursions along with transportation services for other tour operators in Ketchikan.

Training for most positions starts mid-April. We operate around the Alaskan tourism season including vacations on cruise ships, airlines, and ferries; work trips and conferences, and stay-cations for the locals. The summer season runs from mid-April through the end of October.
Employee Housing
Dorm-style housing is available for full-season staff and on a first come first serve basis. There is a daily rate associated with housing that covers rent, utilities, cleaning services, and basic furniture.

Meal discounts are available at all of our restaurants. This does not include alcohol. Please ask the hiring manager for more details in regard to the discount rate.

Getting to Ketchikan
Alaska Airlines offers multiple daily flights between Seattle and Ketchikan, and the Alaska Marine Highway System (Alaska State Ferry) connects to Bellingham, WA. It is the employee's responsibility to make their own travel arrangements. Ask the hiring manager for a discount code when booking flights on Alaska Airlines.
Once in Ketchikan
A vehicle is not necessary but makes exploring the area a lot more fun and easier. You can bring your own vehicle via the Alaska State Ferry, one of the barge options (Alaska Marine Lines or Samson Tug & Barge), or purchase/rent one in town.
The Ketchikan Gateway Borough provides bus transportation throughout the City of Ketchikan and outside city limits. Route prices and passes may vary.

Cape Fox Tours is currently seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced content creator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing guests' memories and creating marketing content to be shared across the company's social media channels. Duties will include taking pictures of guests during their tour, uploading them to sales and social media platforms, creating fun and trendy content, and adding to the marketing calendar.
The position will work closely with the Guest Services Manager to support existing and new campaigns and play a key role in driving the content marketing strategy. The company is willing to train anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of marketing and how to use the appropriate tools to drive sales.

Cape Fox Tours is seeking a friendly and customer service-oriented Chef to help with different tours throughout the summer. The Chef will be responsible for providing an enjoyable experience for the guests and be able engage in friendly conversation with them while providing demonstration. Chef will be responsible for food ordering and prepping meals throughout the summer. Chef will work directly with others including other chefs and wait staff. Guest must be knowledgeable with the techniques for preparing different meals.

Cape Fox Tours is in search of a diesel mechanic who can perform scheduled services and repair work on a wide range of equipment, including motor coaches, vans, service trucks, and shop tools. During the operating season, the mechanic will be required to maintain and service the equipment as needed. During the winter season, the mechanic will be responsible for major equipment repairs and conducting annual inspections of the fleet.

Duties will include providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our guests while focusing on educational interpretations of the area's natural landscapes, abundant wildlife, and human and cultural history. Driver Guides must present a professional manner while safely transporting guests and sharing educational details and stories on tour. Duties Include:
Safely providing guest transportation utilizing excellent customer service
Routinely drives a transit van and provides narrated tours in the vehicle and at select tour venues
Direct and assist passenger movement between cruise ships and tour vehicles
Collect tickets and provide tour itineraries to guests
Maintain reports of passenger counts and driving routes
Maintain reports of daily mileage and fuel log
Performs inspections on vehicles and basic mechanical duties
Must ensure vehicle is always clean
Communicate with dock staff, cruise line partners, and tour venue staff
Report all accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, and damages
Must be knowledgeable of surrounding area and be able to find places and make stops in a reasonable timely manner
Must follow all state laws while operating vehicles and ensure all pertinent insurance and other driving related documents are up to date and visible
Requirements:
Prior experience in positions involving customer service or tourism is preferred
A valid Driver’s License issued by your State of residency
Clean driving record/experience
Minimum age of 18 is required
Ability to regularly lift anywhere between 5-100 lbs.
Regularly required to use hands, arms, sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch etc.
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent personal hygiene
Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English
Must possess excellent customer service skills
Must be free from influence of drugs and alcohol
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

This person must be proactive and personable with guest. Able to provide information on various tours and transportation throughout the day. Cape Fox Tours is seeking talented Native Artist for the upcoming 2023 Cruise Season. Applicants must be Native Alaskan and have residency in the State of Alaska. The Native Artists will work on various projects throughout the summer based on ability and talent. We are looking for artist who are well submerged in the Native Arts and willing to share their knowledge and talent with others. The artist will need to be able to adapt to various tour schedules throughout the season and engage in guests’ communication.

Cape Fox Tours is seeking energetic and reliable adults to perform as Alaska Native Dancers in the Saxman Native Village Tribal House. The Adult Dancers will perform a variety of cultural songs and dances in front of visitors traveling to Saxman via cruise ships and other methods of transportation. They will wear traditional regalia and can invite guests up on the stage to dance at the end of the performance. Practices will be held regularly to learn the list of songs and dances, along with ensuring that the group of Alaska Native Dancers is prepared for all performances.
The Adult Dancers should have knowledge of commonly used Cape Fox company concepts, practices, and procedures within the organization. The Adult Dancer will also rely on instructions and pre-established, commonly known guidelines provided to perform the functions of the position. These and other duties may be required at the direction of the General Manager. Long hours and weekends may be required pending tour schedules.

Provide personable and friendly interaction with tour guests
Exhibit willingness to learn songs and dances
Perform in a professional manner to represent the culture and Company successfully
Wear full regalia consisting of a blanket, apron/skirt, headband/hat, moccasins and solid red or solid back shirt while performing
Perform up to six performances in one day with adequate breaks in between
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accommodate a variable work schedule
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Previous experience as a cultural dancer or in tourism is preferred
Attend practices and meetings to prepare for performances
Knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures
Ability to problem solve with employees and guests in a professional manner
Wear proper attire during performances as specified above
Must have adequate knowledge of local environment and Cultural history, practices, and lifestyle of today
Physical stamina to perform up to six performances in one day with adequate breaks in between
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
Long hours and weekends may be required pending tour schedule
Must be able work with difficult customers/guests in a professional manner
Attend other Company events that require dance performances
