    Girls Summer Camp Counselor

    $300.00 - $450.00 / week
    Yellow Spring

    Counselors oversee campers and help maintain their daily routine. General responsibilities include identifying and meeting camper’s needs as well as assisting the Unit and Activity Heads. General counselors not only accompany campers to and from activities they also assist and participate in all activity areas and in the Unit. Activity counselors provide lessons and instruct all age groups in one or more activity areas. They work in the areas of horseback riding, performing arts, aquatics, sports and fine arts and crafts.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum age of 18
    • Applicants must have completed at least one year of college.
    • Applicants must be individuals with high moral character and a strong work ethic. Working in camp and counseling children is hard work!
    • We expect our staff members to be excellent role models for our campers. Previous experience working with children is preferred. The capacity to provide warm, mature guidance is most important.
    • Camp Rim Rock is a non-smoking camp.
    • Depending upon the specialty position, certification, if available, may be required. In any event, staff members applying for an instructor position must have extensive personal experience participating in the activity, must have demonstrated expertise in the activity, and ideally, should have experience teaching the activity.

    Horseback Riding Counselor

    $300.00 - $450.00 / week
    Yellow Spring

    Looking for experienced riders to provide English riding instruction in ring lessons, trail riding, swim with horses, and stable management. Work on a team to provide general care to the horses, tack, and barns. Assist other counselors in caring for children in the unit in which you live, when not at the barn. But most importantly, be good role models for girls and create friendships that will last a lifetime.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Sports Counselor

    $300.00 - $450.00 / week
    Yellow Spring

    Summer Employment Dates: June 10th through August 13th (End date flexible). 

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Teach 3 to 5 sports lessons and instruct all age groups.
    • Sports counselor can specialize in the following areas: tennis, golf, volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, football, rugby, and archery.
    • Assist other staff in caring for children in the unit in which they live.
    • All staff live in cabins with campers, and have daily responsibilities within the Unit.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Applicants must have completed at least one year of college.
    • Applicants must be individuals with high moral character and strong work ethic - working in camp and counseling children is hard work!
    • Depending upon specialty position/program area, certification (if available) may be required. In any event, staff members applying for an instructor position must have extensive personal experience participating in the activity, must have demonstrated expertise in the activity, and ideally should have experience teaching the activity.
    • Camp Rim Rock will certify staff interested in teaching archery or becoming a lifeguard.

    Performing Arts Counselor

    Camp Rim Rock is seeking enthusiastic performing arts counselors to join our staff this summer!

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Performing Arts counselors teach either Dance, Drama, or Chorus.
    • Plan/teach 2 to 3 lessons per day.
    • Prepare campers for end of session performance nights.
    • Assist other staff in caring for children in the unit in which they live.
    • All staff live in cabins with campers, and have daily responsibilities within the Unit.


    Qualifications and Skills

    • Applicants must have completed at least one year of college.
    • Applicants must be individuals with high moral character and strong work ethic - working in camp and counseling children is hard work!

We expect our staff members to be excellent role models for our campers. While previous experience working with children is preferred, the capacity to provide warm, mature guidance is most important.

    Summer Employment Dates: June 10th through August 13th (End date flexible).

    • Work within a team to supervise all age groups at Camp Rim Rock's two pools, lake, and river.
    • Train at camp to become a lifeguard or come already certified.
    • Assist other staff in caring for children in the unit in which they live.
    • All staff live in cabins with campers, and have daily responsibilities within the Unit.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Applicants must have completed at least one year of college.
    • Applicants must be individuals with high moral character and strong work ethic - working in camp and counseling children is hard work!

    • Instruct campers on hand-building, pottery wheel, and glazing techniques.
    • All staff live in cabins with campers, and have daily responsibilities within the Unit.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Depending upon specialty position/program area, certification (if available) may be required.     Head Waterfront Counselor/Lifeguard

    $400.00 - $500.00 / week
    Yellow Spring

    Camp Rim Rock, an all-girls overnight camp located 2 hours outside of Washington DC, is looking for a motivated and hard-working Head Waterfront Counselor to add to our summer staff. Situated on 500 acres, our campers range in age from 6 to 15.

    Horseback Riding Instructor

    $350.00 - $450.00 / week
    Yellow Spring

    Camp Rim Rock, an all-girls sleep away camp, is looking for horseback riding instructors to add to our summer staff. We're located in Yellow Spring, West Virginia - just 20 minutes outside of Winchester, Virginia and 2 hours from Washington, D.C. We hire staff from across the country, and cover the cost of travel for staff coming in from out of state.

    Summer Employment Dates: Now through August 15th (Dates flexible!) 

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Provide English riding instruction in ring lessons, trail riding, river rides, and stable management up to 6 lessons per day.
    •  Work in a team to provide general care to our 70 horses and the tack, barns, and stalls.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Applicants should have extensive experience working with horses, must have demonstrated equestrian expertise, and ideally should have experience teaching horseback riding lessons to others.
    • While previous experience working with children is preferred, the capacity to provide warm, mature guidance is most important.

    Summer Camp Kitchen Manager/Cook

    Yellow Spring

    Seeking Cooks & Kitchen Manager for a children's summer camp located in Yellow Spring, WV. Summer season runs from mid-June to mid-August.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Responsible for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for camp population of up to 225 campers and staff.
    • Manager is responsible for ordering food, as well as scheduling and training kitchen staff.
    • Follow pre-determined weekly menu, taking into account any dietary restrictions and allergies.  

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Knowledge and experience in preparing meals in large quantities.
    • Aware of the guidelines of food safety and food sanitation.
    • Safe Serve certification and documented food service experience required for manager position.
