Founded in 1910 as a traditional residential summer camp for girls. With rich traditions that dates back over 100 years, Mataponi offers one full season, 7 week session. Camp Mataponi offers a healthy balance of competition, instruction and fun. Diversified activities range from land sports, water sports, tennis, art, dance, horseback riding to theatre, gymnastics, ropes and adventure and more.
Camp Mataponi is located on Sebago Lake in Naples, Maine.

Housing is available to all employees. Counselors live in cabins with 8-10 camper. All of our cabins have showers, toilets and electricity.
There are options for non-bunk staff to live in a cabin with other like staff or in more private accommodations.
All meals are provided while you work at Camp Mataponi. We believe we have the best meals in the industry. There are multiple menu options at every meal. For example, Lunch: Chicken Caprese Panini, Tuna Salad Wrap, Greek Garbanzo Salad, Chicken Tender, French Fried plus a 50 item Salad Bar. Also, meal choices are available to meet specific allergies, diets and specific palates.

Arriving to camp in your own car is the best way to have the ultimate camp experience. We have 2 large staff parking lots available.
Pick up from Portland International Airport (PWM) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is available. We also will pick up arrivals by Greyhound and Concord Coach Lines in Portland, Maine.
Camp Mataponi is located on 135 beautiful acres on Sebago Lake in Naples, Maine. Sebago Lake is the second largest lake in Maine at over 38 square miles. You have the opportunity to take a kayak, paddleboard, canoe or sailboat to explore the lake and visit our own private island located 1 mile from camp's shore.
We are 35 minutes from Portland, ME, 45 minutes to the White Mountains, 2.5 hours from Boston, Mass., and 3 hours from Acadia National Park. During days off, staff members can spend their time exploring some of these areas.
For time off during the day and at night, counselors are able to utilize our staff lounge, fitness center, sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards, lighted tennis courts, and more.

The Horseback Riding Director is responsible for the overall management of the Horseback Riding program at camp. The job consists of caring for 8 horses, managing barn Staff, scheduling and teaching riding lessons, and helping at camp. Previous English Riding Experience is required.
An Overnight Trip Leader is responsible for setting up and guiding camping trips that have been scheduled for the summer. This position will require multiple nights out of camp throughout Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. Hiking, outdoor cooking skills are required.
The Arts and Crafts Director is responsible for the day to day operation of the Mataponi Arts Center. The Director is responsible for the arts staff who work in Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Fashion, Photography, Video, General Crafts and More. Experience as a teacher is preferred.
Camp Counselor live in cabins with campers and work at program areas during the day.
