    As the Ropes Director, you will be spending a majority of your day on our 18 element High Ropes (Tree) Course at and our 56 foot outdoor Climbing Wall and 75 ft bouldering area. Your responsibilities will include the overall operation of the High Ropes Course and Climbing Wall, including: programming, lesson plans, record keeping & evaluation, camper award systems, equipment & supply care, maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, camper instruction, staff training & supervision. The Ropes program instills confidence in all participating campers’ and offers endless opportunities for personal growth and development. You’ll spend your summer teaching kids they can face their fears and grow their sense of adventure through challenge by choice principles.

    Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert in Northern MN seek the services of a driver for summer camp operations. Daily duties vary, but primarily, responsibilities include fleet management of 30+ vehicles, daily driving, short and long distances. Candidate must be 21+ with clean driving record.

    Fishing Specialist/Counselor

    As the Fishing Specialist, you will be spending at least half of your day on the water teaching and fishing with campers and the other half of your day assisting other activity areas. You will get the best of both worlds at camp by having responsibilities in an activity, as well as in a camper cabin. Your responsibilities to the fishing program will include: the overall operation, programming, lesson plans, record keeping & evaluation, equipment & supply care, maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, camper instruction, camper awards system, staff training & supervision.

    Additional responsibilities in the cabin include: overall care of campers and cabin as well as correspondence with parents-by phone and by long form letter, monitoring campers in the dining hall, and ensuring that the campers in your cabin have the greatest summer of their lives!     Food Service Manager

    The Food Service Manager directs the overall food-service operation of the camp including purchasing, preparation, nutrition, service, sanitation, security, personnel management, customer service, and record-keeping. They also enforce Covid - 19 protocols and guidelines for the kitchen. 

    Essential Job Functions:

    Manage the daily operations of the camp food and dining service including coordinating activities between the kitchen and dining room.

    • Oversee the planning and preparation of nutritionally balanced camp meals, snacks, and pack-out food. 
    • Ensure the service of camp meals through directing the work of other employees.
    • Ensure safe and efficient preparation and serving of camp meals.
    • Coordinate menu planning for user groups as directed.

    Oversee the inventory and ordering of food, equipment, and supplies and arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, and upkeep of the camp kitchen, its equipment, and facilities.

    • Maintain inventory of food and household supplies.
    • Order food and kitchen supplies consistent with menus and enrollment counts.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
    • Clean and maintain all food-service areas, including kitchen, dining hall, storage, kitchen recycling.
    • Inspect equipment and ensure equipment is repaired as necessary.
    • Promote practices that seek to reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as much as possible.

    Manage all administrative and human-resource functions with regard to kitchen and dining room employees.

    • Monitor employee performance and training.
    • Assist with interviewing and hiring of cooks and all kitchen staff. 
    • Plan, coordinate, schedule, and supervise the work of other food service staff.

    Other Job Duties:

    In year-round settings, this position would contribute to strategic discussions on guest services, budget development, and capital planning.  For seasonal operations, the Food Service Manager may participate in duties such as staff meetings, special celebrations, or guest services.

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Preferably +21 with a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR.
    • Must submit health history record and examination form prior to first day of work.
    • Experience in institutional or large food service setting.
    • Knowledge of and experience in food service: ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family-style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment.
    • Must hold current certification or licensure for operating a kitchen in the camp’s jurisdiction.
    • Ability to work within a budget and purchase supplies efficiently.
    • Experience in supervision.
    • Knowledge of current health and safety laws and practices is essential.
    • Knowledge of and experience in preparation of special dietary foods.

    Working conditions

    This job is performed indoors, but will have opportunities outdoors in a variety of settings. While inside the kitchen there are certain dress codes that must be followed. Gloves and closed toe shoes must be worn at all times with hair covered either by a hair net or hat.

    • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
    • Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
    • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards of the site and facilities and camper and staff behavior.
    • Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more).
    • Ability to safely and properly use kitchen equipment.
    • Ability to provide first aid and to assist campers and staff in an emergency.

    Physical requirements

    Some physical requirements of a Food Service Manager position could be endurance including prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, hiking, climbing, and stretching;  requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate outdoor equipment and camp activities;  requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities;  and with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and animals such as bugs, snakes, bats, etc.

    As Barn Manager, you will be spending a majority of your day in the Barn and pasture. You will be working closely with our Riding Director. Your responsibilities will include: caring for the well-being of the horses, equipment & supply care, barn maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, and supervision.

    You will have the opportunity to work with our favorite four-legged campers and enjoy the summer working alongside staff and campers who love horses just as much as you. You’ll also have a cabin of kids that you can call home, and together you all can create your best summer ever!

    The Riding Director is responsible for the safety and achievement progress of all participants. The Riding Director works directly with the Barn Manager to ensure the safety of all participants and equines. The Riding Director oversees the Riding Instructors and provides them with feedback & assistance in providing quality lessons for participants.

    Mountain Biking Director

    As the Biking Specialist, you will be spending at least half of your day on the bike trails and the other part of your day assisting other areas. You will get the best of both worlds at camp by having responsibilities in your activity, as well as with your camper cabin. Your responsibilities to at Biking will include: the overall operation, programming, lesson plans, record keeping & evaluation, camper award systems, equipment & supply care, maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, camper instruction, staff training & supervision.

    Additional responsibilities in the cabin include: overall care of campers and cabin as well as correspondence with parents-by phone and by letter, monitoring campers in the dining hall, and ensuring that the campers in your cabin have the greatest summer of their lives! We have multiple bike trails around camp for you to use and will also have the opportunity to plan a bike trip around the lake with staff and/or campers. Enjoy a summer on the backwoods trails while teaching young men or women how to conquer obstacles with two wheels and perseverance.

    As the Riflery Director, you will be spending a majority of your day at the Riflery Range. Your responsibilities will include overall operation of the range, including: coaching, teaching, programming, lesson plans, record keeping & evaluation, camper award systems, equipment & supply care, maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, camper instruction, staff training & supervision.

    Riflery is one of the most popular activities at camp, so you will see quite a few campers coming through the range in a day. You’ll get the opportunity to coach kids from all different backgrounds with the help of staff members placed in your area, introducing children to the principles or patience through marksmanship through .22 rifle shooting.

    Sail Boat Maintenance Tech/Counselor

    What better way to spend your summer than to tinker, maintain, and fix boats on the waterfront, supporting our sailing program. 

    As Boat Maintenance & Sailing Tech, you will be spending a majority of your day on the Sailing Dock or on the lake. You will be working closely with Sailing Activity Director. Your responsibilities will include: equipment & supply care, boat maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, staff training & supervision. You will also have the opportunity to mentor young men or women in the skill of boat maintenance and upkeep.

    Sailing Director/Counselor (Lead Sailing Instructor)

    As the Sailing Director, you will be spending a majority of your day on the Sailing Dock or on the lake teaching young men or women how to conquer the elements and harness the wind. You will be working closely with the Boat Maintenance tech and Sailing Instructors. Your responsibilities will include overall operation of the Sailing program, including: programming, lesson plans, record keeping & evaluation, camper award systems, equipment & supply care, maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, camper instruction, staff training & supervision. The Sailing program includes lots of exciting Regattas over the summer. We host and compete in Regattas as well as growing sailors through the awards program. You’ll have the opportunity to teach kids of all different experience levels while appreciating the beautiful wind of Lake Hubert. You might just find the next America’s Cup Winner!

    Wilderness Director

    As the Windsurfing Specialist, you will be spending most of your teaching young people how to windsurf on beautiful Lake Hubert or taking care of the equipment. You will get the best of both worlds at camp by having responsibilities in an activity, as well as in a camper cabin. Your responsibilities to the windsurfing program will include: the overall operation, programming, lesson plans, record keeping & evaluation, equipment & supply care, maintenance, setting & enforcing safety rules, emergency procedures, camper instruction, camper awards system, staff training & supervision.

    Additional responsibilities in the cabin include: overall care of campers and cabin as well as correspondence with parents-by phone and by long form letter, monitoring campers in the dining hall, and ensuring that the campers in your cabin have the greatest summer of their lives! Windsurfing is very popular and has the potential to run all day. You will get the opportunity to work with young people from all over the world and share with them your love of windsurfing.
