About Bill Cody Ranch

The main lodge was built in 1925, and was owned by the grandson of Buffalo Bill. The ranch has pampered and provided traditional western hospitality to guests from all over the world.

To meet the high standards and high quality of service that we provide our guests, our employees must not be afraid of long hours, hard work, and must be able to work well with others in a family atmosphere. A great sense of humor is a must.

Our staff becomes a part of our family and has the opportunity to meet and work with exciting people from all over the world.

Room and Board

We provide dormitory style housing and three meals a day. Some positions come with a private cabin.

Employee Perks

Your room and board are free as long as you fulfill your contract. Your laundry is done for you at a minimal fee. You won't spend your off time doing personal chores, but you'll be able to enjoy your time here.

Please note that pay is based on the position and your experience in that position. We will gladly discuss this once we receive your application!

Getting Here and Getting Around

Bill Cody Ranch is located in the Shoshone National Forest in Northwestern Wyoming, U.S.A. The Ranch is only 30 minutes from Cody on the way to Yellowstone National Park's east gate on HWY 14-16-20.

MILEAGE FROM RANCH: • 26 miles to Cody • 26 miles to East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park • 100 miles to Billings, MT • 440 miles to Salt Lake, UT • 420 miles to Rapid City, SD • 155 miles to Jackson Hole, WY

The nearest airport and bus station is in Cody, WY.

We will pick you up if you fly into Cody, WY or Billings, MT.

For Fun

You will have the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding, fishing, climbing, hiking, whitewater rafting, the Cody rodeo, western entertainment, Yellowstone National Park (only 30 minutes away), Cody, Wyoming (only 30 minutes the other way!) and many other ranch activities. These are activities our guests pay for, but you enjoy for free!

    Cabin Staff

    Cabin Attendant/Waitstaff

    Cody

    Responsible for the cleaning of all cabins and the main lodge.  Heavy lifting required.  Western attire required at the ranch, except for the time used in cleaning the cabins.  All serving and preparing tables for meals will be done by cabin help.  Food prep may be required.  Dishwashing after meals will be required.  All personnel will be expected to join in the ranch activities.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    Cook

    Working Chef

    In charge of breakfast, for guest and employees.  Responsible for overseeing kitchen duties during breakfast time at the ranch and keeping within Health Department guidelines.  Ordering of food with approval of the owners.  Responsible for cleaning the kitchen after Breakfast and keeping within Health Department guidelines for handling food.  Will have a full kitchen staff under them. Minimal experience required. Any other duties as assigned by the owner.

    Wrangler

    Cody

    Responsible for guest’s safety and comfort at all times on and around the horses.  Feed and care for the horses, assist guests and provide commentary on the guided trail rides.  Involves extensive public contact.  Heavy lifting is required.  All wranglers will be responsible for keeping corral and hitching rails free of all debris.  Trail clearing and some shoveling is involved.  This position requires you to wear wrangler attire.  Wranglers will be expected to drive trucks with 4, 6 and 8 horse trailers.  These trucks must be driven in a safe and courteous manner.  Must have clean driving record.  All personnel will be expected to join in the activities of the ranch.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.
