As a tour representative for Alaska Tales, you will act as the initial point of contact for guests on all scheduled departures. As the first to greet our clients, it is vital that you make a great first impression in a friendly and professional manner. Attention to detail, excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills are required for this position. Hours vary, with plenty of opportunity for overtime and end-of-season bonus for staff who remain available for the entire season (through October 1). Be prepared to work outdoors in inclement weather, jackets and other gear provided. 

Duties include (though are not limited to):

  • Checking in guests for all tour departures 
  • Dispatching transportation
  • Driver logistical support
  • Promoting a positive and professional work culture and environment through friendly collaboration and teamwork.
  • Support of our dock sales team and operations management 
  • Answering any and all customer questions and concerns
  • Maintaining tour counts throughout the day
  • Communicating updates and coordinating with staff at the dock, drivers, and operations management 
  • Handling customer service issues in a calm and professional manner
  • Accurately track reservations to ensure proper invoicing
  • Completing all end of day paperwork
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding Alaska Tales financial and operational information
  • Understanding and compliance with all company safety & operational policies

Organized, outgoing, and detail-oriented applicants with customer service and/or administrative background desired. 

Housing may be available at a subsidized rate for full season applicants.
