    LOCATION SUMMARY
    Vermejo, a Ted Turner Reserve, located in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, spans over 550,000 acres, making it the largest Ted Turner Reserves vacation property.  With its unique location in the southern Rocky Mountains, Vermejo is home to abundant wildlife populations such as elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, bison, black bears, mountain lions, and more.  Through extraordinary guest service and our expert adventure guides, Vermejo provides guests of all ages unparalleled opportunities for outdoor exploration with activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing and wildlife viewing for a truly unforgettable getaway.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    As an Activities Scheduling Coordinator, the job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Under the direction of the Activities Director, maintain staff scheduling to ensure that Guides are available for every activity and staff are present and efficient.
    • Partner with the Education Supervisor and Activities Asset Supervisor to ensure Guide capabilities are accurate on the skills matrix and schedule staff on designated projects.
    • Coordinate with Reserve Ambassadors to prepare itineraries for the best guest experience and ensure that guiding needs for scheduled itineraries are optimized.
    • Ensure revenue is collected for the Activities Department for guided trips per the policies set forth by Vermejo.
    • Guide guests on activities as assigned by the Activities Director.
    • Work the Activities evening shift to assist with scheduling and guiding changes that arise due to guest preferences.
    • Work in the Fish House on tasks as assigned by management which include, but not limited to the following: clean, record, and store fish for guests; wash vehicles; clean debris from trails; assist with weekly meetings and updates; assist Guides in preparation for guided activities.
    • Maintain knowledge of the activities offered on the property and assign guest activities to the appropriate Guide.
    • Communicate guest feedback to the appropriate department leadership.
    • Seek to learn new skills and gain certifications in additional activities offered by the Reserve.
    • Adhere to the quality standards and presentation techniques that have been established for Ted Turner Reserves Guides.  
    • Ensure the highest standards of first aid, safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene are met.
    • Ensure that all NM laws are met and obeyed.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    ACCOMMODATIONS 
    Position requires applicant to live on Vermejo headquarters approximately 40 miles from the closest town. Vermejo’s location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.

    Vermejo offers single- and double-bedroom dorm room style company housing (subject to availability).

    Employee may be subject to sharing a room with one other employee depending on the availability of a single dorm room.

    The nearest town, Raton, NM, is located approximately 1 hour from Vermejo headquarters, and employees will need to provide or arrange for their own transportation to and from Raton for personal supplies.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    3+ years’ experience in guiding is highly preferred, but not required. Must be highly organized with experience in scheduling, budgeting, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS 
    The employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The employee must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    If the position requires the operation of a vehicle, the employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company's insurance carrier.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • The employee must adhere to Company and Vermejo policies and procedures, which are included in the Company’s Employee Handbook and the Vermejo Addendum.
    • The employee must present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire, pursuant to federal law.

    The Lead Bartender is an essential member of our Front-of-House team. The ideal employee is responsible for welcoming our guests and providing food, cocktail, and beverage service in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.  The Lead Bartender will ensure a great guest experience at every table creating an atmosphere of hospitality, while ensuring a memorable experience for our guests.

    As a Lead Bartender, job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Greet all guests and welcome them with in a timely manner.
    • Accurately describe each menu item in full detail.
    • Create cocktails with ease and professionalism.
    • Maintain bar upkeep and cleanliness.
    • Assist Guests in the ordering process by making suggestions and pairings.
    • Maintain full-service restaurant fluidity, i.e., “sense of urgency” on the floor.
    • Be present on the floor and attentive to guests needs to ensure top level service and experience for guests.

    This position requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.   The employee must be able to read and understand menus with accuracy memorize item descriptions.  The employee must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and guests. Bilingualism in Spanish is helpful but is not required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for all day-to-day culinary operations of the main lodge kitchen under the direction of the Executive Chef.  The ideal employee for this position will have a positive and diverse work history with related food and beverage management, a desire to be the best every day, and the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor. This is a working Chef position with important supervisory responsibilities. The Chef de Cuisine ensures an outstanding guest experience and simultaneously provides a work environment of teamwork and trust. This position requires onsite living, rurally located an hour from the headquarters of Vermejo Park Reserve.

    As Chef de Cuisine, the job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Oversee and manage the preparation and planning of the three meals daily for as many as 55 guests, while providing professional leadership and direction to personnel.
    • Partner with Chef and Executive Sous Chef to customize guest dining experience to exceed expectations.
    • Create menus with a sense of place.
    • Cook for small groups of guests and minimize waste.
    • Manage the organization and overall cleanliness of all workspaces and storage areas.
    • Oversee management of the inventory system.
    • Train new and existing kitchen staff on proper cooking and preparation techniques.
    • Handle time and attendance of designated team members.
    • Demonstrate proper and safe usage of all kitchen equipment.
    • Produce high quality cuisine.

Must have advanced knowledge of kitchen equipment, including knife handling.   Experience with wild game cookery, and remote-outdoor cooking experience is highly preferred.  Must be familiar with upscale buffet service and composed plating. Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes is required. Experience working in a luxury hotel/resort setting is highly preferred. Must possess a working knowledge of inventory systems.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS 
    This position requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.   The employee must be able to read and follow recipes and directions with accuracy and consistency as well as be able to adjust for high altitude.  The employee must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Bilingualism in Spanish is helpful but is not required.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
    The employee must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. The employee must be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    REASONING ABILITY

    LOCATION SUMMARY

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The Line Cook is an integral part of delivering an outstanding guest experience by preparing and cooking food to meet recipe, quality, and presentation standards.  These standards, through the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, provide the ultimate culinary experience for the guest.  Strong attention to detail, exceptional organization and cleanliness creates an atmosphere of creativity and satisfaction resulting in exclusive creations.     

    As a Line Cook, the job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, peeling, portioning, weighing, and measuring.
    • Prepare food in accordance with desired recipes and preparation checklists.
    • Monitor food quality during preparation processes.
    • Test foods to ensure proper cooking.
    • Operate kitchen ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
    • Set up, breakdown, wash, and disinfect workstation.
    • Communicate effectively and clearly with Management during service.
    • Follow all cleanliness and sanitation procedures.
    • Follow all TEM/Vermejo Reserve Policies and Procedures.
    • All other duties as assigned.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    ACCOMMODATIONS 
    Position requires applicant to live on Vermejo headquarters approximately 40 miles from the closest town. Vermejo’s location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.

    Vermejo offers single- and double-bedroom dorm room style company housing (subject to availability).

    The employee may be subject to sharing a room with one other employee depending on the availability of a single dorm room.

    The nearest town, Raton, NM, is located approximately 1 hour from Vermejo headquarters, and employees will need to provide or arrange for their own transportation to and from Raton for personal supplies.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    A culinary degree is not required for this position; however, it is preferred. 2-3 years’ kitchen experience is preferred, 1 year is required.  Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes is required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    This position requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.   Employee must be able to read and follow recipes and directions with accuracy and consistency as well as be able to make adjustments for high altitude.  The employee must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers and guests.  Bilingualism in Spanish is helpful but is not required.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    If position requires operation of a vehicle, the employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company's insurance carrier.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • The employee must adhere to Company and Reserve policies and procedures, which are included in the Turner Enterprises Management, LLC Employee Handbook, and the Vermejo Reserve Addendum.
    • The employee must present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire, pursuant to federal law.  
    • The candidate will be subject to undergo pre-employment drug test and background check, (after offer is given but before applicant has commenced work).  Random drug tests are given throughout the year.
    • The Company operates as a drug free/smoke free workplace.  Smoking is not allowed on the Reserve property, to include but is not limited to, Reserve housing, Reserve vehicles, Reserve offices or on Reserve machines.
    • The employee will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.  
    • The employee must have neat and clean personal appearance.
    • The employee will be required to work some weekends and be on a 24-hour “On Call” rotating schedule.
