Since 2011, we have been putting our heart and soul into our establishments on Block Island. We are a family owned and operated business and our employees are an extension of that family. We are looking for people who are passionate about the hospitality industry, and enjoy the process of creating memorable flavors and experiences for our customers.

- Located downtown, our housing is close to work and all necessary amenities. The beach, grocery store + restaurants are a short walk away. Rooms are bunk style, shared with other employees from our restaurants. The apartments have full kitchens, living spaces and bathrooms.

About TigerFish + Poor People's Pub
Poor People's Pub is an island staple, open since 2011. Specializing in hand tossed pizza, house smoked meats, burgers & so much more. There is something for everyone at PPP- from sandwiches and wings to ossobuco + fois gras.
Our full bar features local draft beers & simple but refreshing cocktails. Open from mid-April through the end of October, we serve lunch/dinner and late-night pizza daily.
TigerFish offers pan-Asian cuisine and a rotating sushi menu. Our food is bold and bright with big flavors. The cocktail menu is tiki-centric with twists on classic libations. We encourage our staff to get creative with house-made syrups and curated ingredients while customers sip and dance to our house DJ. Open May-Columbus Day serving lunch/dinner + late night daily.
The Employee Experience
While working with us, your schedule will be set for most of the season, with 6 days on and 1 day off. There will be double shifts and opportunity for overtime. Your experience should be educational, challenging and fun. We want our staff to leave a season on Block Island feeling like they made lasting memories, lifelong friends with a desire to come back and do it again.
Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidates are energetic, natural leaders with a team player mentality. If you thrive in fast paced environments and maintain a positive attitude this could be the job for you!
Room and Board
We have housing located in town, a short walk to beaches, town + work. Dorm style bedrooms woth access to a full kitchen, living room and bathroom.
Housing is very limited and only available for full season commitments. Single rooms are not available.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Located 13 miles off shore, Block Island is accessible by ferry or prop plane from the mainland. Once here, the housing + restaurants are located right down town, so you can easily get around on foot or bike.
For Fun
Block Island is a outdoor enthusiasts playground. Water sports, beach volleyball + soaking up the rays are some of the favorite day-off pass times. Since over 47% of the island is conservation land, there are miles of gorgeous hikes and beaches to discover. Going out to dinner and experiencing the islands restaurant scene is also a great way to bond with your co-workers.
Current Job Openings
Server
High volume experience is a must. This position is hourly with tips. Servers should enjoy interacting with guests, are expected to fully know our menu, operate our POS system (PosiTouch), serve food, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reatuarant.
Ideal candidates should be friendly, energetic and reliable.
Bartender
High volume experience necessary. Basic knowledge of spirits, beer, wine and basic cocktails is required. We will train you on our systems + recipes. Candidates should enjoy interacting with guests, are expected to know our menu, operate our POS system (PosiTouch), serve food, and keep the bar clean and organized. This position is hourly plus tips.
The ability to make conversation while mixing tasty drinks is essential. Ideal candidates should be outgoing, friendly, energetic and reliable. Knowledge of spirits, wine, beer + general mixology is expected.
Pizza Cook
Experience throwing and stretching dough is a requirement. Must maintain a positive attitude and thrive under pressure.
Pay is negotiable based on experience, skill and performance. Pay is weekly, through direct deposit.
Line Cook
High volume kitchen experience is necessary in our busy kitchen. We will train you to learn our systems and help enhance skills you may already have. A passion for cooking and a desire to grow and learn are essential. Must maintain a positive demeanor under pressure.
Pay is negotiable based on experience, skill and performance. pay is weekly, through direct deposit.
