Bartender

We are currently seeking experienced Bartenders to work in a high-volume restaurant on Mackinac Island. This is a full-time position, with overtime, beginning late April and running through mid to late October.

Island House Hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of America and is a one-of-a-kind property located on Mackinac Island.

We operate four one-off restaurants on Mackinac, from family dining to casual fine dining. Each one presents a broad range of opportunities.  

We are currently seeking one Bartender to work at Mary's Bistro and Draught House and one at Seabiscuit Cafe.

About Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island is a unique place located between Michigan's rugged upper and lower peninsulas where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. There are no motor vehicles on the Island, which is accessible only by ferry, plane, and private watercraft.

Job Summary

A  Bartender is responsible for waiting on customers in a timely fashion and all necessary side work. Service is the primary responsibility. A friendly, positive, and courteous attitude toward customers and co-workers is necessary.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for opening and closing procedures
• Must be familiar with the menu, daily specials, and prices
• Responsible for filling out a daily tip report
• Must be punctual
• Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Must have excellent communication skills
• Basic math and reading skills
• Must be able to understand and carry out instructions
• Must be able to maintain a professional manner under stress
