    Taos Ski Valley is hiring cooks at Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. The pay range is between $17.10 and $23.00, with hourly rate set based on experience, skill level, and attitude. Cook positions span several levels of skill, all of which are responsible for the production of and quality control standards of food in a high-volume kitchen through peak, rush periods of service. The nature of this job requires highly motivated, committed, and skilled individuals who can work with a team in a fast-paced environment to achieve customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for preparing and, using a full range of cooking methods and knife skills, cooking food consistent with recipes and what is printed on the guest’s ticket, ultimately ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product
    • Transport food products from storage areas to kitchen and workstations
    • Keep all refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas in clean, working condition to comply with health department regulations
    • Prepare daily production list based on projected business levels
    • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays

    Housekeeping

    Assistant Housekeeping Manager - The Blake Hotel

    Taos Ski Valley

    As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you support the Housekeeping Manager in leading the staff and operations of the housekeeping department and help seek solutions and results that create a high-performing, safety-conscious work environment. You supervise a team that’s passionate about delivering a unique and unpretentious experience to guests of The Blake. You contribute to the team’s professionalism and performance and consciously engage with your staff members, who efficiently accomplish a combination of cleaning duties to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly property for guests and employees. As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Housekeeping Manager as well as the organization's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, payroll duties, overseeing lodge keeping team, and scheduling.  Assisting Housekeeping Manager in the development, implementation, and review of operating procedures for both The Blake and Blake Residences, as well as various other Taos Ski Valley, Inc. properties.

    Esthetician at The Blake -Summer

    As an Esthetician, you help make every guest's stay comfortable and inviting by creating a beautiful environment in the Spa. You pay attention to the details and make sure you put a personal touch that says every guest is special. You have the knowledge and ability to perform facials and body treatments that meet the guidelines and expectations as laid out by the Spa Director/Manager as well as within the guidelines established by your current licensure within the State of New Mexico. You maintain the highest level of product knowledge and have a complete understanding of all spa services offered. You know the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests and help answer any guest questions in a positive and professional manner. As an Esthetician, you are knowledgeable about Taos Ski Valley, The Blake Hotel, and The Spa and able to provide direction to guests to include packages offered, hours of operation, class schedules of The Spa & Fitness Center, mountain statistics, and the adventurous offerings of our scenic surroundings.     Guest Services Shuttle Driver at The Blake - Summer

    $17.10 / hour
    Taos Ski Valley

    As the Guest Services Shuttle Driver, you are responsible for transporting our guests to and from restaurants and other areas in Taos County, safely and efficiently while working closely with Guest Services staff. In this role, you will provide our guests with transportation and access to recreation and activities in and around our area. As the Guest Services Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining vehicles and report to the Front Office Manager.

    Hosts are responsible for running the front desk with the highest possible standards to create a dining experience that will ensure guest satisfaction. You will assist with the taking of reservations and plotting of the dining room floors, as well as controlling the flow of guests entering and sitting in accordance with the pacing set by the management.  You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to guests and team members at all times.

    • Carries out all company procedures for mechanical failures, lift evacuation, adverse weather conditions or any other occurrence which may adversely affect the safety of the passengers on lift equipment.
    • Prepare chairlifts daily for operational use.
    • Complete required departmental maintenance log sheets and record keeping.
    • Keeps current on all ropeway safety requirements as outlined in the latest edition of the ANSI B77 manual.
    • Maintains tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean and good working condition.

    Qualifications & Knowledge:

    • 1 year of prior experience with lift maintenance and/or lift operations is preferred
    • Education requirement of High School Diploma, preferred
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Must be able to climb chairlift towers wearing a fall protection harness, while carrying tools, to troubleshoot / repair equipment at heights up to 65 feet while chairlift is running.
    • Must be able to operate a snowmobile, with public on the mountain safely, and respond to stopped lift issues quickly and efficiently in all types of snow conditions including deep powder.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
    • Knowledge of lift safety codes and standards – ANSI B-77 Standard, preferred
    • Familiar with lift operation and controls, preferred
    • Possession of personal tools and understanding of tool use safety, preferred

     

    Work Environment:

    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions.

     

    Physical Demands of Position Include:

    20% of the workday is spent indoors: 80% of the workday is spent outdoors in constantly changing weather conditions, including snow, extreme cold and wet in winter, and heat, thunder, and lightning storms in summer. 60% of the day is spent walking, 35% of the day is spent standing and 5% is spent sitting. Frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 100 pounds and pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 250 pounds (buddy lifts are required to maintain personal safety). Constantly using and monitoring controls that operate lifts and using heavy tools. Constantly climbing heights up to 65 feet, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. 

    Constantly listening to machinery sounds and smelling for gases and odors, near and far acuity, depth perception, color, and field of vision. 60% of the time noise levels reach 75 - 110 decibels. Constant exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards, high exposure work site, burns, and radiant energy. Frequent exposure to fumes, odors, and gases.
