    Assistant Restaurant Managers at Sun Valley Resort oversee and coordinate all aspects of the dining room according to Sun Valley Company standards to ensure a pleasurable dining experience for our guests. Locations include the Sun Valley Lodge, Village Station, and Bald Mountain's iconic Roundhouse Restaurant.

    Assistant Restaurant Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Train and manage staff. 
    • Schedule staff according to reservations and hotel occupancy.
    • Track daily labor using Kronos.
    • Train staff with the proper technique of Sun Valley Resort Service Standards.
    • Possess an extensive knowledge of wines and how to best serve them, including knowledge of appropriate pairings.
    • Be able to assist with all services in the restaurant and ensure the guests' needs are taken care of professionally and graciously. 
    • Clearly and professionally communicate and cooperate with the dining room staff and the chef on duty, including sharing menu and reservation updates and ordering linens and additional supplies.  
    • Address complaints and resolve problems. ​

    Assistant Restaurant Manager Qualifications:

    • Must have comprehensive knowledge of and experience with restaurant and wine service. 
    • Minimum of 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience. 
    • Minimum of 5 years of practical restaurant service experience. 
    • Knowledge of/experience with daily financial aspects of restaurant management. 
    • They must have excellent customer service and supervisory skills.
    • A degree in a related field is preferred. 
    • Must be able to work in a noisy atmosphere.
    • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.

    Banquet Bartender

    Banquet Bartenders oversee bar operations and prepare and present alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to guests. We are looking for full-time and part-time employees.

     Duties and Responsibilities:   

    • Collect inventory for the event while keeping a detailed inventory. 
    • Collect and count bank from the Cashier’s Office and adequately account for gratuities received. 
    • Prepare the bar for operation and stock enough beverages to meet the needs of the shift. 
    • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe bar and lounge area. 
    • Prepare and serve drinks to guests and arrange bottles and glassware to make an attractive display. 
    • Learn and perfect the creation of the Sun Valley specialty cocktails. 
    • Ring through beverage sales onto the tab or pay-by-the-drink and make proper changes when needed. 
    • Discontinue service when deemed appropriate.

    The primary function of a Sun Valley Bread Baker is to directly assist the Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in the preparation of all bread required by the Food and Beverage Operation.

    • Maintain adequate pars of finished goods to meet forecasted demand;

    • Successful completion of culinary or pastry program or 2 years experience in kitchen or baking.

    Banquet Captain

    The Banquet Captains are primarily responsible for supervising the banquet staff and coordinating all food and beverage services within the banquet department. Some primary responsibilities are to train the banquet team and oversee the enforcement of hotel standards.    

    Duties and Responsibilities:   

    • Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner. 
    • Coordinate with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function. 
    • Perform planning and organization functions for the banquet department, such as compiling equipment lists, maintaining the cleanliness of the banquet facilities, training, coaching, and empowering front-line employees. 
    • Checks banquet rooms, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness and proper set up, and make sure sufficient supplies and equipment are available for the function. 
    • Oversee all aspects of assigned banquet function activities, ensuring that food counters are correctly set and ready for execution at the appointed time. 
    • Plan the event course and orchestrate its completion in a timely, quiet, and courteous manner. 
    • Adhering to all standard banquet processes and resort standard policies and procedures. 
    • Supervises and trains staff in setting up and breaking down assigned banquet rooms according to contract and managers’ instructions. 
    • Assist in conducting pre-shift and pre-function meetings. 
    • Actively participates in the setup of banquet rooms and service of food and beverage to guests. 

     Qualifications:    

    • Experience in a hotel or resort Banquet Department as a Banquet Captain or Lead Banquet Server in a more extensive operation is required. 
    • A valid driver’s license is required.

    The Banquet Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Set up and maintain clean and organized cooking areas.
    • Work closely with others, preparing and ensuring that food comes out at the highest quality in a timely manner.

    The Setup Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the Banquet Setups department. This role will help oversee the setup of all contracted events on Sun Valley property. The goal is to provide 100% guest satisfaction with banquet events.

    Duties & Responsibilities:  

    • Manage the daily banquets and catering setup operations per established policies and procedures.
    • Oversee and assist with setting up and breaking down all events following planning worksheets, timelines, and checklists.
    • Oversee all aspects of event setup as required, including but not limited to customer service, table settings & chairs, and linens, and ensure proper inventory and supplies as necessary to support catering and convention business.
    • Manage open lines of communication between management, departments and team members regarding any setup concerns on an event.
    • Complete checklists & shift reports at the close of every shift.
    • Lead team meetings before setting up and delegating tasks, and conduct bi-annual inventory on all setup equipment.
    • Maintain equipment storage areas as organized and in excellent condition.
    • Follow all safety & training procedures and guidelines to ensure safety for self and others.
    • Participate in weekly catering meetings to discuss prior & upcoming events.

    Qualifications:

    • Upon arrival, greet and assist guests by helping unload luggage from a vehicle and transporting it to their room, personally carrying the bags, or using a luggage cart.

    House Mechanic

    The House Mechanic performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.  

    Duties and Responsibilities:   

    • Performs minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment. 
    • Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks, and closets; installs window blinds. 
    • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.

    Snow Groomer

    An experienced Snow Groomer will groom alpine ski runs to maintain a safe skiing and boarding environment. 

     Duties & Responsibilities:   

    • Check assigned snowcat for mechanical defaults before and after operation. 
    • Complete work orders on mechanical defaults found and submit them to snowcat mechanics. 
    • Maintain ski lift ramps. 
    • Attend all driver meetings and ensure projects addressed are completed. 
    • Meet with coworkers before leaving the mountain base to determine route and technique (individual or fleet grooming). 
    • Transport mountain freight to designated mountain lodges. 
    • Operate snowcat on designated ski runs. 
    • Operate any other equipment relevant to snow grooming. 

     Qualifications:    

    • A valid driver's license is required for this position.  
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
    • One to three seasons related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • Must be able to be required to sit regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  
    • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions and vibration are required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    The Sun Valley Snowmaking Team is looking for a full-time year-round snowmaker to join us and help be a part of our success and share in the fun, comradery, and mountain spirit that embodies mountain and snowmaking employees. The maintenance program includes plenty of hiking, troubleshooting communication networks, hydrant and gun maintenance, pipe repair, new construction, motor and pump maintenance, and occasionally some other tasks helping out other departments, to name just a little of what we do. The winter operating season involves making snow, monitoring system operations, managing and training seasonal employees, and some maintenance items.

    • Must be able to follow daily operational plans.
    • Snowmaking is a team sport, so employees should thrive in a team environment and possess leadership qualities.
    • Make snow and maintain equipment to ensure snow quality always remains on point.

    Venue Manager

    The Venue Manager oversees the facility operations of the Sun Valley Pavilion. This job includes security/access, maintenance/repair, and venue cleanliness. This person may also assist as a stagehand or with the Front of the House as needed. The Venue Manager is responsible for the overall safety and functioning of the pavilion’s fundamental systems. This position is a seasonal position beginning in the spring and running through early September.

    Duties & Responsibilities:  

    • Supervise venue upkeep and maintenance implementation and communicate with the maintenance and grounds departments to ensure continuous, optimal, safe, and clean presentation of facilities and grounds. 
    • Directly address common day-to-day building issues (lightbulb replacement, door hardware issues, etc.) that may occur and need attention. Identify and engage suitable vendor/s to solve the problems if they cannot be fixed internally.
    • Perform minor maintenance repairs as needed in urgent situations.
    • Track and delegate backstage pass distribution and access during shows.
    • Supervise security backstage and authorized access areas during shows.
    • Track and delegate marlock access and key distribution to crewmembers, visiting teams, artists, and clients.
    • Assist with departmental budgeting. Duties include preparing general maintenance and repair cost estimates.  
    • Assist with developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with venue safety policies and procedures for all production-related work.
    • Assist with monitoring the condition of equipment, including lighting, sound, elevated work platforms, and rigging equipment; arrange for repair and replacement when required within budgetary constraints and considering the presentation calendar; perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Schedule maintenance time to clean and maintain all equipment.
    • Act collaboratively with the Entertainment Manager to fulfill front-of-house responsibilities during conferences and shows- including ticketing, security, customer service, and cleaning crew.   
    • Manage and schedule the pavilion cleaning crew throughout the season.

    Qualifications:

    • The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and operate a motor vehicle safely.
    • General maintenance repair experience is preferred.
