    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Clay Brook, our premier luxury slope-side residency, is looking for Housekeepers to add to our team. Our housekeeping team is a critical component of Sugarbush Resort's full-service lodging.  Our housekeeping vision is to provide courteous, quality housekeeping services and to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Employee housing may be available for this position, subject to availability. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Clean guest rooms and/or common areas in a thorough and timely manner while responding effectively to guests' needs. 
    • Additional tasks may involve cleaning and organizing common areas, or assisting other departments as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalency preferred. 
    • Prior experience in hospitality housekeeping and/or janitorial experience preferred, but will train the right person. 
    • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
    • Self-motivation and reliability are essential.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to regularly grasp, reach, stoop, and bend; must also be able to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Ability to learn the proper use of cleaning chemicals with strong attention to safety is required

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Sugarbush Resort is seeking Lift Operators to join our team for the winter season. Lift Operators provide exceptional guest service and are responsible for the safety of our guests while they are loading, riding, and unloading our chairlifts. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operate chair lift and help guests getting on/off the lift.  
    • Monitor the operation of the lift continually; notify appropriate personnel of any problems or unusual conditions. 
    • Perform necessary opening and closing procedures. Complete daily lift log information.
    • Maintain lift area using shovels, rakes, etc. Visually inspect the area on a regular basis for safety hazards and appearance. 
    • Keep the skier traffic flowing smoothly and move/position gate corrals to keep guest lines orderly
    • Positively greet customers at the base of the lift to check and scan passes.
    • Complete incident reports as necessary. 
    • Take information on injuries/accidents and report to appropriate personnel. 
    • Follow all safety guidelines as instructed.     
    • Help with training of new employees.
    • Answer a variety of questions regarding the resort and ski conditions.
    • Provide assistance in other areas of operation; for example, ticket checking.
    • Support the Sugarbush Vision and Values
    • Attend weekly Safety and Service meeting.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older. 
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
    • Must possess basic reading and writing skills and have excellent customer service skills. 
    • Must be able to work in an efficient and alert manner and strictly observe safety and operational procedures. 
    • Must be able to deal with customers in a courteous, efficient and friendly manner.
    • Must be comfortable working for long periods of time in changing weather conditions; i.e., rain, snow, wind and/or cold. 
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays. 
    • Must be comfortable standing for a full work shift.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Sugarbush Day School is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team! The Day School is a state-licensed daycare for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years of age. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for the development and facilitation of programs for specific age groups and room assigned (Nursery, Toddler, or PreK) and communicate with parents about programs and progress of children. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • This position makes decisions about the operation of an entire room or group of children relating to education, entertainment, discipline, and scheduling.
    • Supervises 2 to 7 employees.
    • Assist Director with administrative functions, including but not limited to scheduling and accounting.  
    • Assist in the daily supervision of assistants, train new employees, plan and issue daily work assignments, assist with problem-solving and recordkeeping for assigned room.  
    • Have knowledge of and the ability to communicate overall policies and functions of entire facility.
    • Perform safety inspections on a regular basis.  Keep a safety conscious attitude.
    • Assist with opening/closing procedures and cleaning of facility on a daily basis.
    • Serve on various Resort committees. 
    • Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program for each day.
    • Feed the children according to schedule set forth.
    • Ensure that the equipment used daily and facility (room area) are cleaned thoroughly and remain a safe environment at all times.
    • Be familiar with emergency procedures.
    • Ensure that children are supervised at all times and in compliance with Non-Recurring Childcare guidelines
    • Provide opportunities for sleep and rest.
    • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable in.
    • Implement positive discipline when needed.
    • Clearly and effectively communicate with the children and other staff members.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • CDA, or Associates Degree in Early Childhood and two (2) years’ experience with group of children, or BA/BS with four (4) higher education courses in early childhood related topics and two (2) years’ experience with groups of children, or three (3) years successful experience in a licensed facility and four (4) higher education courses completed in early childhood related topics.  
    • Three (3) positive childcare references.  
    • Annual CPR Certification. 
    • Biannual First Aid Certification.  
    • Minimum of nine (9) hours training annually, focusing on the skills and competencies related to the ages or developmental stages of the children in the Caregiver's Group.  
    • Must demonstrate an active interest in pursuing further knowledge in current childcare trends.
    • Basic understanding of child development and stages.
    • Understanding of safe and appropriate practices for children.
    • An understanding of Resort Childcare, and Non-Recurring care.
    • Possess sensitivity and cultural awareness.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Sugarbush Resort is seeking entry-level and experienced Snowmakers to join our team this upcoming Winter Season! Sugarbush Snowmakers are a critical component in laying the groundwork for an amazing ski season. Come work as part of a comprehensive team that strives to deliver the highest quality of snow and an exceptional guest experience. 

    This position runs from November until mid February (weather dependent) and has the possibility to move into different positions around the resort after snowmaking has ended

    Snowmaking shifts run 12 hours on a staggered schedule of 4 days per week, with the potential for overtime.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • This physically demanding job includes regular lifting, pulling and carrying, while working outside in sometimes extreme weather conditions.
    • Snowmakers carefully and diligently work as part of a larger team per daily snow plan: transporting equipment, routing hoses, clearing guns, positioning/starting/stopping snow guns, and adjusting systems to maximize snow coverage and quality.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
    • Requires ability to work long hours, outdoors, overnights and exposed to the elements. 
    • Must be physically able to move/operate equipment and able to lift 50-100lbs worth of equipment.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and teammates.
    • Experience with ATV/snowmobiles is preferable as is a basic mechanical aptitude.
    • CPR/First Aid certification is highly desirable but not required. 
    • Timely and reliable attendance is essential.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Equipment operation and monitoring, starting and stopping pumps and compressors, constantly monitoring system to maintain efficiency. 
    • Operate computer controls (some equipment remotely and some controlled locally). 
    • Maintain communication with on-hill and maintenance staff, relay information regarding supply/demand. 
    • Communicate proper gun settings to on-hill staff and start and stop automatic hydrants when requested. 
    • Serve as a communication link between snowmaking and other departments. 
    • Hourly data recording of operating equipment and system parameters. 
    • Tracking Sugarbush and Valley total power wattage and ensuring power demand does not exceed transmission system limits. 
    • Maintain facilities, cleaning, minor repairs, chipping ice, and shoveling snow. 
    • Tracking the use of and maintaining peripheral snowmaking equipment including radios, tools and diesel fuel tank levels. 
    • Updating current weather conditions and patterns.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
    • Mechanical orientation is a plus. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, 2-way radio, and in person. 
    • Visual acuity necessary to operate machines where the seeing job is at or within arms reach.
    • Must be comfortable occasionally performing heavy work involving exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and lesser weights more often. 
    • Must be comfortable withstanding noise from machinery.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Sugarbush Resort is seeking a Full-Time Lodging Maintenance Technician to join our team. Lodging Maintenance Technicians perform ongoing maintenance and repair of resort lodging facilities including Clay Brook, Rice Brook, Gadd Brook, Sugarbush Inn, and the Resort's rental condos. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintenance Techs are responsible for repair and maintenance tasks in resort properties, including shoveling snow and plowing during the winter. 
    • Maintenance tasks include - drywall patching, interior/exterior painting, minor carpentry, troubleshooting televisions & appliances, pool & spa upkeep, monitoring mechanical rooms & boiler systems, monitoring fire alarm & life safety systems."
    • Maintenance techs are available for overnight on-call. In some situations, they may be asked to assist in other departments as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prior experience in building trades and with tools is preferred. 
    • Experience with swimming pool maintenance is a plus. 
    • Must be able to lift over 70 pounds. 
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, on a 2-way radio, and on the telephone. 
    • Will need a valid driver's license and must pass a motor vehicle check, as company vehicle use is expected. 
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays and occasional evenings; work involves indoor and outdoor tasks in various types of weather. 
    • High School Education or equivalency degree required.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Sugarbush Resort is seeking Rental/Repair Technicians for our upcoming winter season. Rental/Repair Technicians work in a busy shop environment with various tools/equipment to clean, tune, maintain and prepare rental and guest skis and snowboards. As a primary point of contact for customers, technicians must greet guests in a professional manner- assisting them to consider their rental and repair needs while providing helpful information. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Techs work to ensure guest and/or rental equipment is repaired and tuned to optimum performance with strong consideration for safety standards. 
    • Techs must develop/maintain a savvy working knowledge of tuning equipment and repair techniques. 
    • Technicians maintain strong communication skills with all team members and guests.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Applicants must be 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalency degree.
    • Must be flexible and comfortable working in a fast paced work environment.
    • Experience working with skis, snowboards and boots preferred. Previous tech and/or mechanical skills are the most desirable.
    • Must either have the ability to handle and safely operate all machinery and/or tools used in the shop or the willingness to learn.
    • Must possess a mature work ethic with timely and reliable attendance.
    • Ability to lift awkward and moderately sized loads.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to work weekends and/or holidays as needed.

Through superior customer service, communication, and organizational skills, valets maintain a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently and accurately managing storage areas.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Valet Attendants manage ski/ride equipment and serve as an information source for guests. 
    • Duties include greeting guests, checking equipment in/out, processing any charges for products and services, answering guest questions and providing information about Sugarbush Resort and the Mad River Valley.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Excellent customer service and communications skills are necessary
    • Requires the ability to multi-task efficiently while always exhibiting a professional demeanor through an outgoing and enthusiastic personality
    • Strong communication skills with a variety of people are essential
    • Experience in a mountain recreational environment is preferred

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Are you a naturally friendly person with a helpful personality? Clay Brook, a four-star luxury slope side residency at the heart of Sugarbush Resort's Lincoln Peak Village, is searching for a Concierge with a strong eye to guest service. Clay Brook, with 61 residences, each having between one and five bedrooms, offers owners/guests many privileges and top service. The specialty position of the Clay Brook Concierge will serve all Clay Brook guests by managing their needs at Sugarbush and within the Mad River Valley.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Concierge ensures that guests feel a sense of belonging and special attachment to Sugarbush by managing their arrivals/departures, and scheduling various activities, including: ski lessons, rentals, Sugarbush Health & Recreation Center and other mountain activities, securing dinner reservations and baby sitters if needed.
    • This position also fills in as a front desk agent, and assists with Clay Brook events. 
    • The Clay Brook Concierge helps guests take advantage of all that Sugarbush and the Valley has to offer.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalency diploma, college degree preferred
    • This position requires the ability to multi-task efficiently while always exhibiting a professional demeanor through an outgoing and enthusiastic personality
    • Strong communication skills with a variety of people are essential

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Sugarbush Resort is seeking Season Pass/Ticket Sellers to join our team. The Season Pass/Ticket Seller handles guest ticketing transactions with efficiency and accuracy while maintaining the high standards of customer service that our guests have come to expect.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • As a primary point of guest service contact, tasks will be performed in a welcoming and professional manner.  
    • Pass/Ticket Sellers ensure positive, accurate, prompt, and courteous service, while helping guests select products that best suits their individual needs. 
    • Sellers work efficiently to conduct ticket and ticket-package transactions but are also responsive to positively answering or directing guest's questions/concerns (in person and on the phone).  
    • Additional duties include collating receipts, general filing, and conducting accurate cash outs.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Requires a high school or equivalency degree. 
    • A professional and friendly personality is essential to this important service role. The right candidate will be able to maintain a pleasant, responsive, helpful and knowledgeable attitude while juggling many demands. 
    • Excellent listening/communication skills are necessary as is an ability to accurately perform basic math.   
    • Previous customer service experience, including cash handling, and general computer knowledge is preferred- especially if with RTP systems. 
    • Timely and reliable attendance is absolutely essential. 
    • Must be available to work a flexible workweek, including holidays and weekends.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Sugarbush Resort is searching for  Retail Sales Associates to join our team! The Sales Associates perform merchandising functions while providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide excellent customer service to guests of the facility.
