    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for experienced childcare counselors who want to make the Summer the best one yet! Lead our kids in awesome summer activities like hiking, biking, swimming and so much more. Spend the summer creating incredible memories! Must have 500 formal documented hours working with kids 3-12 years old with valid CPR/First Aid and Red Cross Lifeguard certifications required.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for guiding a group of children through daily camp activities including sports, arts, teaching outdoor education and teambuilding

    • Responsible for leading activities in all weather, including inclement

    • Responsible for creating programming as needed to keep children active and engaged

    • Care of children range in age from 3 years to 12 years

    • Responsible for all discipline and safety of children throughout the various activities

    • Must be a high energy, fun loving, active individual

    • Must demonstrate an interest in and knowledge of children & concern for their proper care and well being

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • 500 hours formal documented experience working with children ages 3 - 12 required, with previous camp experience preferred. Must provide letters of proof if hired

    • Valid CPR/First-aid certification required

    • Valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required

    • May be willing to obtain CDL license, which will result in random drug testing

    • 3 letters of recommendation required

    • Early elementary, recreation, physical education college education preferred

    • Experience teaching outdoor or environmental education preferred

    • Adhere to all safety policies and program procedures

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp Service Excellence standards

    • Must be available for the entire season

    • Clearly communicate verbally and in writing in English

     

    The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    If teaching is your thing and biking is your game, this is the job for you! Teach Mountain Bike lessons on the trails of the Steamboat Ski & Resort, Co., while patrolling and maintaining signage throughout the day.  Will also be expected to assist guests and Patrol Team. Mountain bike riding experience and a valid CPR a must.

    Work bikes are NOT provided – you must be able to provide your own mountain bike

    Pay incentives available for those candidates possessing certifications in both the medical and instructional arenas

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Primary job duty is to instruct Mountain Biking lessons – while providing a safe, consistent, and memorable lesson experience to guests

    • Patrol, monitor, and maintain downhill trails and signage while enforcing ticketing as well as safety rules

    • Maintain first-aid supply bags and administer first-aid at appropriate level of training, documenting incidents that require first-aid

    • Provide information and assistance to the guest

    • Attendance mandatory at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work

    • Assist with transportation of guests via ATV, van or truck

    • Assist Patrollers with Patrol operations, basic first response within level of training

    • Trail maintenance as required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Experience using shovels, saws, hammers, and other common trail work and construction tools preferred.

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Sports instruction/coaching/guiding experience strongly preferred

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

    • Read and write in the English language, Spanish is a plus

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet insurability standards

    • Instructor certification required or must be willing to obtain (PMBIA, Terramethod IDP, IMPBA’s ICP, or other accredited program)

    • Wilderness First Responder & Outdoor Emergency Care preferred

    • Valid CPR card and basic first-aid (8 hour course) required

    • Adhere to all Safety policies

    • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp Service Excellence standards

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • High school education or GED strongly preferred

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Experienced and medically trained Mtn. Bikers wanted!  Bike patrollers needed to monitor the safety of Steamboat Ski & Resort Co., while providing our legendary guest service.  Must have valid/current Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder or EMT; CPR also required.

    Work bikes are NOT provided – you must be able to provide your own mountain bike.

    • Primary duty to patrol, monitor, and maintain all trails and signage within the Mt. Werner network, enforcing ticketing and safety rules

    • Maintain first-aid supply bags, administer first-aid when necessary

    • Document incidents requiring first-aid

    • Communicate effectively with team and operational partners to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency

    • Provide information and assistance to the guest when needed

    • Assist with transportation of guests via ATV, van or truck

    • Assist Instructor team with lesson operations, teach lessons if certified to teach and demand requires

    • Attendance at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work

    • Trail maintenance as required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Experience using shovels, saws, hammers, and other common trail work and construction tools preferred.

    • Attend required orientation and training sessions

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

    • Previous patrol experience, preferred

    • Must be minimum 18 years of age

    • Read and write in the English language; Spanish a plus

    • Will work outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme mountain weather

    • Downhill mountain bike at a high level of proficiency

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Steamboat Ski & Resort Co is operating this summer with the Steamboat Bike Park, scenic gondola rides and summer activities, and we need a qualified person to supervise a staff as they assist guests with their needs while providing our legendary service.  Must have valid/current Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder or EMT; CPR also required.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for assisting with training and coaching of patrollers

    • Responsible for being the primary resource in the execution all patrol functions

    • Responsible for special team training involving conflict resolution

    • Responsible for organizing operating procedures at duty stations and scheduling/organizing agenda for team meetings

    • Maintain a working relationship with Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation managers and other Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation departments as well as public organizations

    • Responsible for keeping records and inventories up to date; review reports and records

    • Evaluation of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation Patrollers

    • Maintain first-aid supply bags, administer first-aid when necessary

    • Monitor, and maintain all trails and signage within the Mt. Werner network.

    • Provide information and assistance to the guest when needed

    • Assist with transportation of guests via ATV, van or truck

    • Attendance at designated meeting times on days scheduled to work

    • Trail maintenance as required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Experience using shovels, saws, hammers, and other common trail work and construction tools preferred.

    • Attend required orientation and training sessions

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous patrol experience, preferred

    • Must be minimum 18 years of age

    • Read and write in the English language; Spanish a plus

    • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Mountain Bike Mechanic position is a highly-physical position which will be responsible for the continued maintenance of mountain bike rental fleet and require the applicant to lift 25 lbs daily and work outdoors.  Must have a minimum of 6 months bicycle mechanic experience. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for continued maintenance of mountain bike rental fleet.

    • Responsible for retail maintenance of guests equipment.

    • Help with teching bike rentals when needed.

    • Rental and check-in of bikes and helmets.

    • Wash bikes.

    • Other duties as assigned including keeping area clean, cleaning workplace (trash, wash windows, vacuum, etc..)

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 6 months bicycle mechanic experience required

    • Ability to complete required documentation in an accurate and legible manner

    • Maintain a neat appearance in conformance with company standards

    • Ability to use 2-way radio communication system (will train)

    • Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC’s Service Excellence standards.

    • Must meet SSRC minimum driving standards and have current Driver’s license; a successful motor vehicle record background check is required.

    • Ability to adhere to all safety polices

    This summer join our food & beverage team and help us create an incredible experience at The Steamboat Rodeo. We are looking for upbeat individuals to help run the rodeo concessions from opening in June until the week after Labor Day.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Perform complete, accurate, and timely set-up and tear-down of event location

    • Complete care and maintenance of all function space

    • Organize and cleaning of all back of the house space

    • Prepare Rodeo grounds per the Managers direction. Stock and set up for service. Perform shift opening tasks that may include: setting tables, opening doors, set up service station, buffets, and any additional tasks requested from the Manager

    • Responsible for maintaining buffets by restocking as needed

    • Must be a team player by assisting in daily operations of serving, cleaning, dishwashing, and bussing

    • Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner. Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous and efficient manner

    • Ensure that we adhere to State Liquor Regulations, TIPS certified, etc. determine when customers should not be served alcohol

    • Handle disturbances created by disorderly or intoxicated patrons, with the proper level of guest consideration and safety and know the right time to seek assistance

    • Responsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation. Perform cashier duties; set up cash drawer; take payment and return correct change; cash out at the end of the shift. Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out and receive payments from guests to expedite service. Will pertain to bartenders only

    • Must keep work area organized and clean at all times

    • Alert manager to any inventory shortages of liquor, food and supplies based on anticipated or actual guest volume

    • Bus tables and reset throughout shift, as necessary. Clean area at the end of each shift. Banquet Captains to assign duties at end of shift

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

    • Prior food and beverage experience, required

    • Driving a 25 / 33 passenger bus between the Meadows parking lot and the Gondola Square transportation center in a safe manner
    • Daily Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections
    • Provide excellent Guest Services (i.e. resort Information, directions, etc.)
    • Provide traffic control of vehicles entering and leaving parking lots, ensuring safe, steady flow, and pedestrian safety; manage parking lots efficiently by parking cars in straight, tight rows

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Steamboat Ski & Resort is looking to fill positions for the Pipe Crew.  This position will require the use of hand and power tools, and should have previous experience laying pipe or at least some time around or operating heavy equipment.  Understanding of erosion control and storm water drainage preferred.  This is a very physical position that will also require a valid driver’s license. This position runs through October but provides the opportunity to continue on with the Snowmaking department or work elsewhere at the resort.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Deals with hands on use of power tools on rugged terrain

    • Use and keep track of tools and daily maintenance of equipment

    • Hard labor required to move and install snowmaking pipe and its various components

    • Assist with maintaining water bars, re-vegetation work and digging holes

    • This job will be building installing snowmaking pipelines and its components

    • Vehicle operation to include Company trucks, 4-wheeler, Ranger

    • Assist with maintenance of existing snowmaking system

    • Other duties, as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous experience with hand tools (shovels, picks, pipe wrench etc.)

    • Must safely operate a demo saw, angle grinder, other power tools

    • Previous pipe laying experience preferred for pipe work. Also, a brief understanding of erosion control and storm water drainage preferred. Pipe work requires ability to perform hard labor, lift 50 lbs, and operate a pipe wrench.

    • Attention to detail is also a must.

    • Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Operating a vehicle is an essential function of this position and will require the successful applicant to meet the minimum requirements of the Alterra Driver’s Standards Policy. This includes possessing a valid Driver's License and meet insurability standards.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Snowmaking pipe crew is looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join the team. If you have been operating Heavy Equipment for two years or more and would like to be a part of the team that helps cover our mountain with that Champagne Powder then here is your chance to apply. The ideal candidate must have experience running excavators and loaders in steep terrain.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • The primary purpose of this job is to install new snowmaking pipe on the mountain while following guidelines and best practices

    • Clean, fuel, maintain, and conduct routine inspection of excavation equipment

    • This job will involve the use of shovels, rakes, demo saws, and other common power and non-power tools related to pipe installation and equipment maintenance

    • Must be able to meet or exceed departmental key expectations

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous Ductile pipe laying experience preferred

    • Must be at least 18 years of ages

    • Must have experience running excavators and loaders in steep terrain

    • Must be able to adhere to company safety policies and maintain a safe environment for both guests and employees at all times

    • Strong work ethic and ability to handle strenuous work 40 hours a week

    • Must be a team player.

    FULL-TIME & PART-TIME SERVERS NEEDED! Applicants are expected to have at least one (1) full year of serving experience; those with fine dining and current TIPS certification being preferred.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are looking for folks who can mix a drink and enjoy connecting with others! Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, and experience as necessary. Location will be determined in interview process.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for tending bar in a high-volume dining restaurant serving both bar patrons and wait staff; mix, pour and serve drinks to customers and/or wait staff serving tables; keep work area and bar organized and clean at all times

    • Responsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation. Perform cashier duties; set up cash drawer; take payment and return correct change; cash out at the end of the evening. Ensure that your bank is correct. Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out and receive payments from guests to expedite service

    • Must be a team player by assisting in daily operations of serving, cleaning, bussing, and answering phones which is dictated by business volume. Greet and seat customers, as required

    • Open bar facilities. Stock and set up bar for service. Perform shift opening tasks that may include: setting tables, opening doors, set up service station, make sure all menus are stocked for all shifts, etc. As required

    • Maintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner. Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient manner

    • Adhere to State Liquor Regulations, TIPS certified, etc. Determine when customers should not be served alcohol

    • All job responsibilities need to be completed in a timely and efficient manner

    • Handle disturbances created by disorderly or intoxicated patrons, with the proper level of guest consideration, safety and know the right time to seek assistance

    • Alert manager of inventory shortages of liquor, food and supplies based on anticipated or actual guest volume

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous cashiering experience required

    • Current alcohol awareness training certification, preferred

    • Must have at least one year of bartending experience

    Steamboat is looking for cooks of all skill levels to join the growing culinary team. From entry level Cook 1 to Cook 4 for those who have multiple years of experience.     • Prepares various foods, under supervision, for restaurant and banquets.

    • Conduct and record time and temps at station. Has awareness of storage areas, labeling and dating.

    • Takes direction from Chefs, Sous Chefs, and outlet managers.

    • Organize station to create greatest efficiency and keep work area and kitchen organized and clean at all times, adhering to all state and local sanitary requirements.

    • Assist Sous Chef and Chef with securing/storing food deliveries with knowledge of food hierarchy placement.

    • Support with communication/notification regarding product outages. 86'd items, product shortages, low inventory items.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This winter season Steamboat is in need of an experienced sous chef. Associates degree in culinary arts and/or 3 years of relevant professional cooking experience in resort or high-end facilities. At least 1 year experience as sous chef, chef or kitchen manager in a supervisory capacity is required. Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, experience, and ability as necessary, must be able to Manage a shift in any restaurant or banquets.

     

    RESUME REQUIRED

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Culinary leader with prior management / supervisory experience.

    • Requires broad, in-depth knowledge and culinary skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation.

    • Able to effectively manage, train and give direction to kitchen staff.

    • Responsible for cost and quality control, managing labor and ongoing sanitation practices.

    • Manage a shift in any restaurant or banquets

    • Mastery of all ingredients and prep required for all menu items. Assist in the creation, usage, and follow through of prep lists including pars.

    • Advanced knife skills. Moves at an efficient and fast pace. Knife cuts are consistent and accurate. Able to train and teach others about knife skills and safety.

    • Prepares station guides and ensures each station is set to standard

    • Monitors and enforces all stations, walk-ins and storage areas for proper labeling and rotation of product. Address violations accordingly.

    • Supervise the cleaning and organizing of all storage areas.

    • Complete Food Handler and Allergen training. Ensure compliance with established health and safety procedures.

    • Report all observations of damaged/ dangerous equipment. Conduct and record time and temps at station. Has awareness of storage areas, labeling and dating.

    • Where applicable ensure that HAACP Principles are followed. Ensuring that daily temperature logs are completed and filed

    • Takes direction from Chef and outlet managers.

    • Conduct training as determined by management, for staff.

    • Supervise, coordinate and participate in the daily operations of all restaurant kitchen facilities.

    • Assist Chef in the supervision of kitchen staff. Responsible for and supervises Cooks 1-4 in regards to food handling including: rotation and sanitation.

    • Assist Chef with food ordering and able to place food orders in the Chefs absence.

    • Operate computer system, email, purchasing guides, receipt log, chef’s daily log and notes.

    • Actively participate in end of period food inventory counts with Chef.

    • Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to Cost of Goods. Basic understanding of food cost control methods and cost vs. sales relationship. Actively participate in daily food waste and transfer logs.

    • Meet and exceed all budgetary goals in regards to labor expense. Basic understanding of relationship between costs and revenue. Participate in scheduling and labor forecasting with Chef.

    • Plan and develop with Chef, all menus for outlets and all specialty menus. Research, develop, modify and test recipes.

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Come enjoy a fun summer experience in Steamboat! Christie Peak Express will be running this summer to transport mountain bikers and foot passengers. We are looking for full time Lift Operators. Days worked include 4-5 days per week, 30-40 hours per week with some night operations, including weekend work.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Must have positive guest relations and work well with a small crew

    • Responsible for the daily operation of the lift, pre-operational inspections, loading/unloading of guests and bikes, maintaining the work area, and other jobs assigned

    • Guest service – greeting, welcoming, and providing information to our guests - verbally, message boards, bike maps, etc.

    • Efficient and safe operation of the lifts, vehicles in the summer

    • Appearance at the lift areas - lift houses, ramps, maze, personal appearance, trash removal

    • Knowledge of lift equipment, ticket gates, and scanners

    • Inspection of the lifts

    • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

    • Other duties as assigned

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation lift experience preferred

    • Complete required documentation in an accurate and legible manner

    • Self-motivated, responsible, and independent with a neatly groomed appearance
