Currently recruiting for the season from May 17th, 2024 to October 19th, 2024.

We are accepting applications for summer jobs in two owner-operated restaurants in Stanley, Idaho. Both places have a fine reputation for delicious, healthy food, friendly service, and great atmosphere.

Stanley is a small town located between the Sawtooth and White Cloud mountain ranges, in central Idaho. It is very busy in the summer months with mountain/river recreationists. There are limitless opportunities for outdoor adventure here.

About Stanley Baking Company/ Sawtooth Hotel

Stanley Baking Co. serves breakfast, lunch, espresso and homemade baked goods. Sawtooth Hotel is a casual fine dining restaurant in a historic log hotel. Both are family-run and feature from-scratch cooking.  Our staff is comprised of energetic, positive-minded people who enjoy the hospitality business and thrive in a remote mountain-town environment.

You will be working alongside a great team of leaders and owner/operators.  The restaurants are busy and successful and the work atmosphere is positive.  Our staff, front-of-house and back-of-house, is comprised of people who have experience and a keen understanding of hospitality.

Room and Board

The Sawtooth Hotel property has limited employee housing that is available for rent for full-time employees. Employee housing preference is given to employees who can commit to the entire season, from May through October.  Each room has a bathroom, bed, dresser and dorm fridge. There is a laundry set up for use. Renters are expected to be considerate of his/her neighbors. There is no smoking and no dogs allowed.

Employee Perks

The main perk of the jobs offered is a high quality of life.  If you are into living and playing close to the wild mountains and rivers of Idaho, you'll love it.

Compensation is based on experience.  Employees are expected to work 40-hour weeks, sometimes more.  Bonuses may be possible for exemplary performance.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Stanley, Idaho, is a relatively remote town, 60 miles from the nearest town of Ketchum.  Employees who do not have a vehicle may be able to ride bicycles to/from work.  The nearest major airport is 3 hours in Boise.

For Fun

Stanley and its surroundings provide unlimited outdoor recreational activities.  Surrounded by the Sawtooth and White Cloud mountains, and flanked by the Salmon River, this area is a mecca for hikers, bikers, fishermen, rafters, and outdoor lovers.  The summer season brings live music to the valley and lots of community events.

    Hospitality

    Host/Hostess/Housekeeper

    $12.00 - $14.00 / hour + tips
    Sawtooth Hotel

    We are looking for a full-time housekeeper/host/hostess (split-shift).  Housekeeper for 9 guest rooms in the mornings/early afternoon and hosting  five nights a week in the Sawtooth Hotel restaurant.  Must possess attention to detail, be a team player and comfortable helping the manager/owner up front in a fast-paced restaurant. 

    Back of House

    Line Cooks

    Sawtooth Hotel, Stanley Baking Company

    This job is responsible for producing scratch menu items with attention to detail and focus on first-rate quality and care.

    Job duties include but not limited to:

    • collaborating with lead cook to create scratch menu items and daily specials
    • producing first-rate menu items in a timely manner, focused on quality
    • maintaining a clean, orderly work station
    • recipe and ingredient preparation

    Requirements include

    • knowledge of food handling safety techniques and practices
    • knife, recipe, and food prep skills

    Applicants must be responsible, self-motivated, be team-players, and possess a positive attitude.  

    Hospitality

    Housekeeper/ Dishwasher

    $14.00 / hour
    Sawtooth Hotel

    We are looking for a full-time seasonal (May-October) housekeeper/ dishwasher.  Applicants must be positive-minded, hard-working, and have great attention to detail.  Duties include but are not limited to:

    • housekeeping for nine rooms, laundry, front-desk 
    • dishwashing nights in a busy restaurant

    Duties include but not limited to 

    -cashier, barista, serving
