Come work just a mile outside of Yellowstone National Park!

A guest once described Silver Gate as being "more than just a great place to stay. It is a state of mind."  People come to Silver Gate to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The Silver Gate General Store sells Montana made gifts, basic foods, local beer, and wines, hiking supplies including maps and bear spray, books, ice, firewood, ground-on-sight Grizzly Blend Montana roasted coffee. We're a great one-stop-shop for Yellowstone Visitors and those choosing to stay in quaint, lovely Silver Gate, Montana.  The Silver Gate General Store also serves as the front desk for our 30 rental cabins.

Looking for a motivated, personable, hardworking person to fill a position at the General Store in beautiful Silver Gate, sitting just 1 mile outside the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park.  

The job includes:

• stocking inventory
• sales
• cashier
• checking people in for a reservation in one of our cabins
• occasionally taking reservations
• customer relations

Applicant should be:

• good with people
• good at working with others, as well as alone
• the ability, and willingness, to learn
• perform well under pressure
• a self-starter in 'slow' times
• good with computers

The pay is $10/hour, 35-40 hours/week.  There is 'rustic' housing available.  Applicants should ideally be available to start in mid-May and work until October. However, job dates are negotiable. We offer an end-of-the-season bonus to employees that fulfill their contracts. 

The best thing about this job is that you get to work right outside of Yellowstone National Park!  If you love the outdoors (hiking, fishing, camping, wildlife watching, rock climbing) then this job is for you.  On your days off the whole park is your playground, as well as the Beartooth Highway, Sunlight Basin, and Chief Joseph Scenic Highway.  

There are plenty of things to do right in Silver Gate and Cooke City (our neighbor town, only a couple miles up the road).  Even when you are working you get to enjoy the beauty and serenity that Silver Gate has to offer.
