Shadowcliff's Kitchen Manager/Cook guides the operations of Shadowcliff’s Compassionate Kitchen in a manner consistent with our principles of hospitality and sustainability. This position oversees the meals for a calendar of retreats and gatherings of varying size and duration as well as special events throughout the season. (Our busiest months are July and August, while June and September are usually slower). The Kitchen Manager/Cook plans and prepares meals for groups as well as for staff, supervising lead kitchen assistants, rotating hospitality assistants, and volunteers in meal preparation, service, and clean-up.
The Kitchen Manager/Cook receives a monthly stipend of $2,000 (prorated depending on start date), a private, furnished room (shared bathrooms) in the main lodge (all utilities included), a share of tips, and meals/food. This position is needed for the duration of the season, through approximately October 9th, 2024.
