Sequoia Parks Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the natural beauty of Sequoia National Park. We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Field Institute Manager to oversee our programs, manage staff, and ensure exceptional visitor experiences within the parks.

Primary Responsibilities of the Position:
- Manage daily operations on-site at the Crystal Cave (May-Nov) and remotely for Pear Lake Winter Hut (Dec-Apr)
- Develop and deliver high-quality interpretive programs on diverse topics related to the natural and cultural history of the parks and surrounding areas.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff, including naturalists, guides, and hut keepers.
- Schedule staff and programs, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various park partners.
- Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, answering questions and addressing their needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong supervisory and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills to effectively engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching, conducting tours, or resource interpretation.
- Proficiency in tools and software to support staff scheduling, inventory, reservations, and using various software programs (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and thrive in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license and be able to pass a background and DMV check.
- Commitment to safety and a willingness to comply with all park regulations and safety protocols.
- First aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required.

Ash Mountain or Lodgepole in Sequoia National Park. Peak Season park housing may be available, but may not be available year-round.

- Housing is shared and based on availability through the National Park Service. Employees are responsible for the rent. Seasonal housing is rural and rustic. The Conservancy has 4 large trailers that may also be used as shared housing. In most cases, there are no more than 2 people in an accommodation. Your roommate may be an NPS employee, not a Conservancy employee
