Perform duties of the Marina Manager in order to keep all aspects of the marina operating smoothly and safely.

***SEASONAL MAY - OCTOBER ***

  • Responsible for the total financial performance of the marina.
  • Direct and supervise entire marina team.
  • Manage and monitor the fishing guest service functions.
  • Develop and coordinate the hotel budget and forecasts.
  • Train, motivate, evaluate performance and initiate disciplinary actions, as needed, in coordination with corporate personnel policies.
  • Provide superior service to all customers in an effort to promote positive customer relations and maintain/increase business.
  • Responds and directs employees to respond to customer needs, including resolving customer related problems.
  • Maintain marina inventory, including: participating in and overseeing stocking and rotation of packaged inventory, organization of displays, maintaining appearance and assisting with month end inventory count.  Works with team to monitor proper inventory control, including: monitoring pricing accuracy on invoices.  Active involvement towards loss prevention including: training staff about prevention, identification and utilizing appropriate response measures.
  • Oversee general housekeeping and maintenance to provide for safe and efficient operations for customers and employees. Keeps all equipment in good working order; immediately notifying the general manager of any equipment deficiencies or safety concerns.  Adhere to company and regulatory safety policies and communicate them to employees and customers.
  • May have to perform dockhand duties.
  • May have to perform marina mechanic duties.
  • May have to perform captain duties if licensed to do so.
  • Other duties as assigned by my supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Organizational skills are required with a sense of pride in your work
  • Certified Marine Outboard Mechanic
  • Experience on Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki Motors
  • Excellent driving record as verified by a motor vehicle report
  • Ability to work evening, weekend and/or holiday work hours based on the mechanical needs of the Marina
  • Ability to interpret business and statistical reports.
  • Ability to manage according to the employment, service and lnnkeeping laws of the jurisdiction. Public speaking ability.
  • Ability to communicate with the public, employees and hotel management in a professional manner on a daily basis.
  • Ability to administrate, exemplify and support HMC culture, values, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out job instructions.
  • Ability to make critical decisions.

  • The employee must be able to lift and bend to lift up to 60 pounds, and to push or pull a minimum of 120 lbs. of various sizes of luggage, packages, coolers or boxes.
  • Continually walking, standing, lifting, pulling.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards are available).
  • Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments, employees and guests.
  • Must be able to interface daily with the public, and to provide support to those who interface with the public daily.
  • Time management & negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and lead property employees.
  • Bachelor's degree or 3 years marina management experience.
  • College level reasoning, math, language skills.
  • Marine Outboard Certification.
  • Previous Outboard Experience required.
