Pizza Line Cook:  We are seeking skilled and passionate Pizza Cooks to join our dynamic team and contribute to the culinary experience of Red Onion guests. An ideal candidate will have experience preparing high quality and consistent food in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean and friendly environment.

Location: Historic Red Onion Saloon in Skagway, Alaska

Job Type:  Seasonal, full time

About Us: The Historic Red Onion Saloon & Brothel Museum, nestled in the heart of historic Skagway, Alaska, is a renowned establishment with a rich history dating back to the Gold Rush era. A favorite among locals and tourists alike, there is a bar and restaurant downstairs, and a brothel museum upstairs. Guests from all over the world visit the Red Onion Saloon every summer.

Job Responsibilities: Food preparation, kitchen operations, collaboration, quality assurance & cleanliness.

  • Create and prepare a variety of delicious pizzas, appetizers, salads and sandwiches with attention to quality and presentation. Ensure consistency in the use of ingredients and adherence to established recipes.
  • Regularly prepare, rotate, stock and maintain the food assembly line for service.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Manage multiple orders simultaneously, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, floor and tour staff to ensure smooth communication and efficient service.
  • Help with catered special events as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on equipment and ingredients to ensure freshness, compliance and quality.
  • Assist with regular cleaning, sanitation and dishwashing of kitchen, bar and food items.
  • Implement measures to minimize food wastage and optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Observe company health, sanitation, and food quality policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Pizza Cook or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to work efficiently with others in a small kitchen space
  • Able to stand for at least 8 hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication, timeliness and teamwork abilities.
  • Alaska Food Handler’s Permit & TAPs Servsafe certification. (Certification and trainings are paid for/reimbursed by the Red Onion Saloon.)
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

  • $18-$20/hr. DOE + tips
