The Employee Experience
As an Alaskan owned and operated company we take pride in showing off the great state of Alaska to our many clients. As a driver or tour director, you will have the opportunity to share and experience the amazing scenery from behind the windshield of the newest fleet of motorcoaches in Alaska. As an employee of the Wilderness Express, your view will be 360 degrees of Alaskan Beauty as seen through our 4 luxury Deluxe Dome Rail cars pulled by the Alaska Railroad. While you are traveling the highways and rails of Alaska showing your guests all of the beauty Alaska has to offer, you will also be working with an amazing team of coworkers who will quickly become friends and over time will be regarded as family.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for friendly, customer service-oriented people who have a sense of adventure and a thirst to learn about Alaska. You will need to have a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to any situation. Teamwork is a must, as is attention to detail. Most importantly, a positive attitude and drive to share all of the amazing things Alaska has to offer!
Room and Board
All employees hired for a position based in Anchorage and Fairbanks are responsible for their own housing. Roles involving travel include Tour Director, Tour Motorcoach Driver and Onboard Rail positions. Guest Service Representatives based in Denali National Park have Room and Board provided.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Out-of-state employees are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Alaska. Anchorage and Fairbanks can be navigated relatively easily. Public transportation is available throughout each city. Employees based in Anchorage have found that bicycling is an effective means of transportation if you do not have a car. Anchorage has an extensive bike trail system that can get you anywhere in the city. Grocery stores, malls, and post offices are all easily accessible by public transportation and bike trails.
For Fun
While Premier Alaska Tours employees work hard, they also know how to play hard. Working in the tourism industry definitely has its perks. During days off, employees take advantage of some Alaskan adventures, such as hiking, whitewater rafting, fishing, flightseeing around North America's highest peak, or kayaking in Prince William Sound. Alaska is a land of mystery and is spectacular during any season.
Current Job Openings
Tour Directors
Tour Directors are based in Anchorage and must be able to travel for 2 to 16 days away from home base. Tour Directors must have a confident nature and ability to talk in-depth about Alaska history, people and destinations. Additionally, Tour Directors must be willing to share stories of their own adventures in Alaska. Experience in the Alaska visitor industry is preferred, but not required. Tour Director positions are highly competitive.
Motorcoach Drivers
A motorcoach driver's responsibility is to safely provide transportation throughout the state of Alaska and the Yukon Territory. Additionally, the driver must be willing to interact with guests both on and off the coach and will often provide commentary. The driver will have the opportunity to work as a team with a tour director, while traveling with a group across the state showing the many different landscapes Alaska has to offer.
Motorcoach Drivers will be considered only if they have a clean driving record of no more than 2 traffic violations or accidents within the previous 3 years, and cannot have a history of DUI or DWI. A CDL and two years of professional Alaska motorcoach driving experience is preferred.
Guest Service Representatives
Guest Service Representatives (GSRs) are based in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Seward, and Denali. GSRs are often the first point of contact for the guests upon arrival and the last point of contact for guests before they depart Alaska. GSRs must have excellent guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide solutions to common inquiries or complaints from guests.
Rail Positions
Rail Positions are based out of Anchorage. Our deluxe dome rail cars serve are moving restaurants with full food & beverage, bar and espresso service. We are looking for Food Servers, Bartenders, Cooks, and Host Guides to ensure our guests receive a once in a lifetime experience as they travel by train through Alaska. Onboard crew must have excellent guest service skills, be able to work long days (about 14 hours!), and have the ability to work as a team in close quarters with your coworkers. Competitive hourly wage plus tips with lots of overtime opportunity.
