About Polebridge Mercantile & Bakery
We open in April and with our unique location within our community and our strong local support, we look forward to a great summer ahead.
The Polebridge Mercantile & Bakery is tucked up in one of the most remote corners of Glacier National Park. It is a small business and offers a much more unique experience than other national park employment opportunities in the region. There is no cell phone service (but we do have employee wifi!), and the road to get here is dirt, not pavement, but most people truly love the Polebridge experience once they arrive. We offer an authentic and challenging experience and are not for the faint of heart!

Room and Board
We offer on-site housing and accommodations two miles from the main campus. We operate on communal living, sharing bathrooms, kitchen, and common spaces.
We offer four types of housing; individual, shared, couples and RV. Shared housing can be up to 4 people in a room or yurt. Individual or couple housing consists of one shared room. Camping and camper vans are also welcome with full access to all other amenities provided.
The daily facility fee includes housing, showers, laundry, power, water, propane, internet, and shift meal. Each work shift includes one shift meal.
We offer some but limited housing that does accommodate pets. Pets need to be preapproved prior to the employee living and working at Polebridge.
We also offer some but limited family housing.
Employee housing, quiet hours are 10 PM - 7 AM, with Very Quiet Hours from Midnight - 5 AM.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Polebridge is located 24 miles from Apgar in Glacier National Park.
We are remote, however you do not necessarily need a car to live here for the season. Trips to town can be coordinated with other team members. There are bikes provided to staff to use for the summer.
For Fun
Glacier National Park is your playground! Dozens of world-class day hikes and overnight backpacking trips are just outside the door. River floating, paddle boarding, and mountain biking are also very popular.

Current Job Openings
Baker 1: Lead
This is a position for experienced bakers who love and are masters of their craft, and it involves running the oven, and being a shift lead.
Note: This is a bonus opportunity position.
Baker 2: Prep Baker
Mixing doughs, making savory rolls, stocking the walk-in and keeping the customers happy is the name of the game. You won't be running ovens, but you will be making the product that goes in the oven. This is a job for a team player who has at least 1 year experience in a commercial bakery or kitchen setting.
Baker 3: Deli & Prep
Doing what needs to be done to get the job done is the job description for this one.
Bakery Prep, deli prep, making pizza, cutting cookies, stocking, and dishes. You get it done and go home.
No baking experience is required for this position, but knowing your way around a kitchen or being a darn quick learner is a must.
Barista / Cashier
You connect the bakery to the lead cashier, and are the master of determining what baked goods are on display, a love of coffee and smiles are a must for this position, and in the busy season you will be running your own till.
Opening/Closing Cashier
Are you good with people? Proficient at mathematics? No problem standing on your feet for ten hours? This is a fast paced job that is for the most extroverted of folks.
This position also includes store opening duties for morning cashier and store closing duties for the evening shift.
Housekeeper/Produce Stand
This job is requires an independent worker with an eye for detail. You will spend several hours per shift changing over our four rental cabins, but most of the shift will be spent running the produce shack where we sell our baked goods, cold brew, tea, fresh fruits and veggies from our garden.
Retail Assistant / Stocker
An eye for detail. A passion for making things look just right. Ability to refold and the same stack of shirts everyday and not lose your mind. If this sounds like you, our retail/stocker position might be right up your alley. Ability to work independently and quickly are a must for this position.
Note: this position is 5 eight-hour shifts per week beginning at 5 AM.
Baker's Assistant/Dishwasher
This position is in the middle of everything. Literally. You may help the lead baker by wrapping hot sandwiches, glazing the product, and washing dishes; you also brew the coffee. A positive attitude, the ability to multitask, and an artistic flare make all the difference in this fast-paced position.
Line Cook - Sasquatch Grill Food Truck
Can you multitask? Can you stand for long periods of time? Do you love food? This position needs filled by someone who can food prep, cook, assist the lead cook, and stock. A positive attitude and an interest in food trucks make all the difference in this fast-paced position.
Outdoor Rentals and Sales
Do you like people? Love recreating? Wanna help people get outdoors?
We need someone that knows GNP, knows the river system, and is a gear guru. Your job will be to assist in the outdoor shop selling and renting gear. You will also assist in running a POS system and greeting customers.
