About Monument Lake and Resort
Experience lake living in high-altitude at its finest in The Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Colorado!
Monument Lake was founded in the early 1930s and is a pristine body of water that stretches a mile long. The lake was leased to Monument Resort in 1937 by the City of Trinidad thus becoming Monument Lake and Resort. This charming retreat is a favorite fishing and camping spot for all!
The property in its entirety is 368 acres. There are many scenic and historic towns within driving distance and all have that small-town charm with their own unique history.
The Employee Experience
We are a Summer season resort and each season we staff anywhere from 15 to 25 staff members looking to not only make a difference in their lives but to make a difference in all who visit us at the resort. Monument Lake and Resort is a special place to work just as it is a special place for our guests.
When our employees aren't working they are open to enjoy everything that the lake and resort have to offer, including: hiking, boating, fishing, bike riding, kayaking, and much more. We are committed to creating a supportive environment and a rewarding work experience for all of our staff!
Ideal Candidate
Guest service is key, regardless of what position you are interested in. We are looking for staff members with passion who love the outdoors and hospitality, outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, and friendly with a strong work ethic who can help give our guests the best experience they have ever had!
Our season starts May 17, 2024 so we would need you to start a week prior to opening day. The season will run through mid September.
Room and Board
We have shared accommodations for our seasonal staff. Includes full kitchen, living room, three bedrooms that each have two beds, two bathrooms, and washer/dryer. If you have your own camper, we will set you up with full hook ups (water, electricity and sewer). Employees will pay $20/week for utilities. Unfortunately we do not have accommodations for families. Pets are allowed if you have your own camper but not in the shared housing at this time.
Employee Perks
In addition to enjoying all of this paradise and amazing environment, the resort offers a 35% discount on employee meals. All staff are welcome to check out rental equipment (as long as it is not reserved by a guest), We also offer a 35% discount at our lakeshore store (this does not include beer or alcohol).
Getting Here and Getting Around
If you plan to arrive by bus or plane, we can meet you in either Colorado Springs or Denver and bring you to the resort. Having your own vehicle is a good idea since the resort is a ways from any town with shopping, but with so many other staff members at the lake, someone is always heading to town so you can always catch a ride.
For Fun
Enjoy the numerous resort activities on your days off or go looking for fun. Cuchara is a sweet little mountain town 30 minutes away with gift shops, churches, miniature golf, and fun for everyone. Visit Alamosa, the Sand Dunes, and numerous other lakes and parks nearby.
