Wrangell-St. Elias is a 13 million-acre National Park with the thriving off-grid communities of McCarthy & Kennicott located right in the middle of it!

We are 8 cabin Bed & Breakfast and we are looking to welcome someone to train and bring into our community to help with the day to day responsibilities of providing clean and hospitable accommodation and service to our guests. 

The position is somewhat full-time and comes with housing and some flexibility for a single or couple. You will have the opportunity to pursue personal hobbies and passions or just enjoy your free time in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.    

Position: Clean cabins, Check in guests, and maintain property & grounds.

Qualifications: Able to provide exceptional guest services and experience in cleaning and property/grounds maintenance.

The ideal candidate is a positive hard worker who takes pride in their work with high attention to detail, great flexible work ethic and loves to communicate in a caring friendly manner with people from all backgrounds.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team are crucial. To be successful in this role you will be healthy, adventurous, active, non-smoking and have a sense of urgency in your work ethic. With a can-do attitude and prior experience in a similar role living/working in an off-grid lifestyle will make you a huge plus! Sorry, no pets please.

Schedule: An ideal candidate can work May 27 - Sept 17th (if your availability doesn’t match perfectly, please contact us, we have some flexibility in start and end dates) Average of 30 - 40 hours per week (Hours may vary week to week based on bookings).

Perks of the job: 

  • As well as a monthly wage, private housing is provided.
  • You will have use of the laundry facilities.
  • Access to great adventures for free or a very small cost - hiking, glacier hiking, ice climbing, pack rafting, Flight-seeing and more.
  • Use of a vehicle for getting around within the community and also a bicycle, but be sure to bring your hiking boots.
  • In the quiet times of the season there are many other opportunities for to earn extra cash within the community!

Living and working as a team member in our community is physically demanding and requires someone to be able to roll with the punches.  This environment can throw anything at you faster than a mosquito can buzz in your ear. So, if this sounds like you.........
