Looking for an exciting and rewarding experience where you can make a real difference in a child's life? This is the place for you! Kingsley Pines is a coed, noncompetitive, overnight camp for ages 8-16 located on Panther Lake in Raymond, Maine.
Kingsley Pines is in an incredible waterfront location, with a sandy beach leading to a beautiful lake, it is the perfect spot for your new summer home. Spend the warm, sunny days teaching kids to waterski or kayak on the lake, and mild nights roasting s'mores by the campfire before retreating to our contemporary but simple cabins.

About Kingsley Pines Camp
Approximately 65 counselors are employed during the summer and there are approximately 215 campers per session. The camp season begins June 14, 2024. It consists of one week of staff orientation, 7 weeks of children's camp, and two weeks of family camp. The employment period varies between nine and eleven weeks, ending either August 10 or August 23, depending on our your schedule and our staffing needs. We have more than 30 activities and are seeking counselors with a wide variety of backgrounds and skills.

Ideal Candidate
Candidates should be caring, enthusiastic and have a genuine concern for children. These positions require maturity, creativity, and the ability to put others needs before your own. Candidates must be at least age 18 and have graduated from high school before January 1, 2024.
Room and Board
Room and board are included. Counselors reside in cabins with the campers. All cabins have electricity and screened windows. Most have bathrooms attached. Older camper cabins use a nearby common bathroom.
The food at camp is great! It is always fresh and served buffet style. There is something for everyone. Our Food Service Director goes out of her way to prepare nutritious alternatives for vegans, vegetarians, or people with special dietary needs. The veggie options are excellent and there is always a fully stocked salad bar for lunch and dinner.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Many counselors choose to drive to camp. If you choose to come by bus, plane, or train, we can pick you up in Portland, the nearest major city. Portland is about 40 minutes from camp.
If you are looking to get off-campus during your time off, this never seems to be a problem. Counselors car-pool just about everywhere and we allow the use of camp vehicles under certain conditions.
For Fun
Camp is recreation. We offer over 30 different activity options, we have special themed days, games like all-camp Capture-the-Flag and the list goes on! But after all that recreation, inevitably the counselors are always ready for more. Staff members have one day and two evenings off per week. Some of their favorite activities include:
- An evening out in Portland
- Hiking in the nearby White Mountains
- Relaxing by the ocean on a beautiful sandy beach
- Spending the day in Boston- 2 hours away
- Going to the Drive-In to see a movie (Yes. They still exist.)
- Tubing down the Saco River
- Natural waterslides at Step Falls
- Mt. Biking down Attitash Mountain
- Climbing the Beehive at Acadia National Park
- Take in a Sea Dogs game (minor league team for the Red Sox)
- Shopping at the Freeport Outlet Mall
Counselors are also permitted to use camp facilities and equipment during time off as long as they have permission and it does not interfere with camp activities. Yes. You can go waterskiing, wakeboarding, or tubing on your time off, among other things.

Cook
The COOK is responsible for helping to prepare, cook and serve meals for 300+, supervising prep assistants and monitoring safety and cleanliness. Previous cooking experience required. Seeking candidates who are looking for a positive work environment and who know camp food is more than just chicken nuggets.
This position requires some flexibility in scheduling, but your schedule will generally be fixed. A wide variety of cooking will be required so knowledge is good, but a willingness to learn will make up for a lack of knowledge. Click here to learn more about being a Cook at Kingsley Pines.
This is a summer camp. Attitude is very important. You will work closely and be in contact with campers and staff. A camp appropriate demeanor is a constant requirement. This is also a teaching and training position, as our prep assistants come from Mexico.
Good Management and a Food Service Director with a desire and a mandate to make good food and enjoy doing it. A good fit for our kitchen is more important than lots of experience. Recent culinary graduates encouraged to apply.
Seasonal position, 40-45 hours per week, 5 days per week, June 10 - August 23, 2024. Salary: $20.00 per hour. Room and board is provided, but optional.

Wilderness Trip Leader
The WILDERNESS TRIP LEADERS plan, organize and lead a variety of two day and one night wilderness camping trips in Maine and New Hampshire. Activities include hiking, canoeing, swimming and sea kayaking. Help campers gain an appreciation for the outdoors and gain confidence by having new experiences.
Seeking candidates with one of the following: previous experience leading wilderness trips; participation in a university outing club; student experience with NOLS, Outward Bound or a similar organization.
Wilderness First Aid and Lifeguarding certifications are required. We can arrange for you to get these certifications, if you do not already have them. Must be age 21 or older and have a clean driving record. Seasonal position June 14 - August 10, 2024.

Camp Counselor/Activity Instructor
Counselors are the core of the camp staff. Candidates should be caring, enthusiastic, and have a genuine concern for children. Counselors supervise, lead, guide and live with a group of 3-10 children. They also teach one or more of the daily activities (see list below).
