    Seeking Drivers and guides in beautiful Juneau, Alaska!

    We are looking for friendly, fun and entertaining folks to drive for our tour company this summer. Season runs May thru September. A CDL driver’s license is required BUT if you have a clean driving record and are willing to learn we are willing to train the right person! Those with commercial driver’s licenses are strongly encouraged to apply.

    We offer: Driver training, housing and an end of season bonus for those that are able to complete the season.

    We require: A sense of adventure and a love of entertaining, a CDL driver’s license, a clean driving record and all required DOT drug testing.

    We are hoping to fill our last few spots for the season as soon as possible! Guide training, drug testing, paperwork and road tests take a couple days.

    Diesel Mechanic

    $28.00 / hour

    Juneau Tours (www.juneautours.com), a privately-owned tour company in Juneau Alaska, seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic  (CDL driver a plus!)  to join our small team of mechanics to maintain our fleet of tour buses and our fleet contracts (semi trucks, fuel trucks and other heavy equipment)

    The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and repairing Thomas built buses passenger vans and airport shuttles (This is a seasonal opportunity April 1 - October 1, with the potential for year-round employment for the right candidate).

    Essential Diesel Mechanic Functions:

    Duties include preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, drive-line, steering & suspension, electrical troubleshooting, air system maintenance and repair, PA systems, light bodywork and other duties as assigned. In addition, the Diesel Mechanic may be asked to assist our Marine Mechanic in servicing our marine vessels.

    Requirements:

    -23 years of age or older
    -Able to read codes and instructions on the computer
    -Able to document repairs
    -Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one
    -5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including: PM's, tire & wheel, air & hydraulic brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical
    -Prefer certifications in tire & wheel, brakes, AC &/or EPA
    -Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
    -Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry the same for short distances and up and down stairs and steep inclines. Ability to sit in awkward positions for long periods, standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching and climbing up and over various equipment.

     

    On the water

    Whale Watching Boat Captain

    $5,000.00 - $6,500.00 / month + tips

    Our boat captains are responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism and compliance among the crew and must demonstrate excellent customer service, local knowledge, effective guiding skills, and understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures as specified by the FMCSA.

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Vessel operation and maintenance
    • Leading the crew in guiding the tour
    • Building a culture of performance excellence
    • Help with sheduled maintenance and repairs
    • Maintianing logs and Compliance reporting
    • Supporting the marine mechanic

     

    The ideal candidate will have 5-plus years experience as a 50T marine captain.. The candidate must exhibit a passion for whales and wildlife, and have an engaging personality. As a peer leader, the candidate will lead by example and motivate through clear and regular communication with crew, mechanics and others. Additional requirements:

     

    • Familiar with Coast Guard regulations
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Mminimum 50T Captains liscense
    • 5 years of proven tour guide experience with references
    • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays and on-call rotations
