Live and work on Monhegan Island - Maine's most famous home of Lobstermen & Artists

The Island Inn is a well established seasonal hotel (since 1907) and restaurant located 11 miles offshore of Mid Coast Maine on beautiful Monhegan Island - an unspoiled nature lover's paradise of woods, cliffs and rocky shores, and a small community of fishermen and artists. Most of Monhegan Island is preserved as a conservation area with 12 miles of hiking trails around the highest headland cliffs on the East Coast and endless rocky coves.  The Island Inn has 32 guest rooms in 2 historic buildings.  In addition, the hotel operates an in-house 60 seat fine-dining restaurant and a free-standing café, the Barnacle.

The Island Inn, a historic, seasonal hotel on Monhegan, seeks full-time Housekeepers to join our team. Housekeeping is a critical reason why many of our guests have been returning to the Island Inn for decades and even generations.  Become part of an incredible team, while experiencing 5 months of adventure in a truly unique location! Most Housekeeping days finish by around 2pm, but based on the occupancy rate of the hotel some overtime might be required.  Over the season, Housekeeping positions average 40 hrs a week based on a 6 day work schedule, including several weekly dish help shifts during dinner service.  Fluctuations in hours may occur due to hotel occupancy & staffing, as well as the very nature of housekeeping where no 2 days are alike with no fixed clock out time.  We appreciate flexibility from our team members and in return try our best to accommodate individual needs and requests.
