    Kitchen Assistant Employee Dining Room

    $16.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    To ensure that the restaurant area (Employee Dining Room) is clean, sanitized and reset throughout the day.  Ensure adherence to all relevant quality and food health and sanitation principles from the state and the company’s own internal standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Keeping tables clean, sanitized, and ready for new guests. 
    • Move dirty dishes and glasses to proper locations throughout the restaurant. 
    • Help maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant. 
    • Communicate with front-of-house staff what tables are clean or what might be needed. 
    • Communicate with the kitchen staff about what products you need. 
    • Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance. 

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25-50 pounds. 
    • Must pass a pre-employment background check. 
    • Minimum age of 18 years required to reside in company housing, where available.

    Warehouse Clerk

    $16.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    We are a collaboration of Holland America Line and Princess Cruises, innovators in Alaska tourism and advocates for the environment. Our team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing to Alaska each summer, lodges and hotels, motor coaches and domed rail cars for the best Alaska experience available.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs a variety of entry-level shipping and receiving tasks.
    • Routinely, processes deliveries
    • Distributes and stores goods
    • Coordinates deliveries.
    • Monitors storeroom activities and transactions
    • Maintains records of transactions.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Working knowledge of warehousing or food storage is preferred.
    • Some experience in positions involving vehicle or automotive detailing is normally preferred for this job.

    Rooms Division

    Team Housing Attendant

    $16.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    Team Housing Attendants set the tone for each and every employee that checks into housing. You provide a pleasant and comfortable experience for team members, ensuring that all our employees have a clean home-away-from-home. You will be cleaning, and sanitizing employee housing rooms and public areas as assigned; supporting the safety standards, and assisting employees as the need arises. The Housekeeping team is made up of a diverse group of inspiring and passionate individuals who have fun working together on a daily basis.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Cleans the employee housing, public areas, and laundry rooms. 
    • Performs routine inspections to ensure the cleanliness and safety of rooms.  
    • Delivers meals to sick team members and assists with laundry duties.
    • Coordinates employee activities and events.
    • Drives employees to offsite events, and appointments.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must pass a pre-employment background check. 
    • Valid Drivers license (not revoked or suspended) with fewer than three moving violations
    • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.

    Guest Services

    Gift Shop Supervisor

    $18.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    Having fond memories of vacations with loved ones is an important part of travel. Whether it’s celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or “just because”, vacationers want to take home souvenirs that bring them back to an amazing experience or location. Or perhaps they are bringing a part of their experience home to share with others. Our retail locations help make this possible. The Gift Shop Supervisor is a key component in motivating the retail staff to find that “just right” souvenir for each guest and make those connections and memories. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assists in motivating the sales team and engaging guests. 
    • Develop schedules for employees and monitor their timecards daily.  
    • Overseeing opening and closing of retail venues including proper cash and credit card transactions and accountability. 
    • Inventory and warehouse management (receiving, ticketing, and distributing). 
    • Supervise periodic physical inventories as well as potential count discrepancies. 
    • Generating maximum sales while providing excellent customer service and work environment. 
    • Communicates and coordinates with multiple departments in a friendly and professional manner. 
    • Maintain records, reports, logs, and files in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines. 
    • Responsible for the overall display and presentation of the products in the store including stocking, and replenishing merchandise. 
    • May monitor alarms and communicate with guests, employees, security, management, and emergency personnel in the event of urgent and/or emergent medical and non-medical incidents on the property. 
    • Keep work areas organized, clean, and sanitized.

    Food and Beverage Supervisor

    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    The Food and Beverage Supervisors are an integral part of the Food and Beverage Management team.  You will oversee all day to day restaurant operations providing excellent service to our guests including answering guest inquiries, and effectively handling complaints while maintain professionalism and friendly positive attitude that support HAP service excellence values.  This position supervises and motivates team members in line with company standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervises food and beverage staff and the activities of the food and beverage operations and services.
    • Monitors and tracks sales, prepares analysis and recommends strategies to achieve sales and performance goals.
    • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.
    • Ensure all venues are always presentable and ready for service.
    • Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines.
    • Regular checks of cashier’s paperwork, deposits, tips and correct closeouts of the POS system.
    • Hold pre-shift meetings with all FOH Team Members.
    • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and sanitation guidelines. 
    • Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have a valid alcohol safety card for the State of Alaska. 
    • Minimum age of 21 years required to serve alcohol in the State of Alaska.
    • Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25-50 pounds.
    • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized point of sales (POS) systems.
    • Ability to comply with company health and safety requirements.
    • Must have a valid Alaska Food Handler's Card or the ability to obtain certification.

    Maintenance

    Fleet Detailer Supervisor

    $18.50 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    Princess Cruises and Holland America Line offer a wide-variety of spectacular land and sea experiences. Our team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing to Alaska each summer, lodges and hotels, luxury motor coaches and the largest domed rail cars in the world. Our guests experience both luxury and adventure that is truly unmatched.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervises the team of fleet detailers, the fleet cleaning operations and activities. 
    • Coordinates vehicle cleaning and re-fueling with dispatch.  
    • Performs a variety of entry-level vehicle maintenance tasks.  
    • Routinely, oversees scheduling of cleaning and re-fueling fleet vehicles.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Previous experience involving vehicle or automotive detailing is normally preferred for this job.  
    • Prior supervisory experience is required.  
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will 
      be a part of our random drug testing program.

    The Room Attendants are the foundation of an excellent stay at the property.  You provide a pleasant and comfortable experience for guests and team members, ensuring that all our visitors have a clean home away from home. You’ll be cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms and guest areas while supporting our safety standards and assisting guests as the need arises. The Housekeeping team is made up of a diverse group of inspiring and passionate individuals who have fun working together on a daily basis.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure all assigned rooms and/or areas are clean and sanitized by the end of the shift.

    Behind the scenes in every successful business are the accountants and administrative staff that support the entire organization. As a night auditor, you analyze, verify, and report on all sales for the resort with an eye for detail. Auditing transactions and verifying records help keep us profitable. Businesses cannot continue the next day until the night auditor has finished their work and therefore is a crucial position to the functionality of the entire business. The small group of people that work overnight is a special team that makes sure the property is safe and the next business day starts over for each venue.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Process and print daily sales information using the property management system. 
    • Organize sales receipts from the front desk, tour desk, retail, and food & beverage departments and flag errors. 
    • Communicate with guests, employees, security, management, and emergency. personnel in the event of urgent and/or emergent medical and non-medical incidents on the property.  
    • Applies knowledge of local information, company products, optional tours, services, and operations for guests and employees to enhance their vacation and work experience. 
    • Provides excellent customer service and analyzes situations, investigates problems, and determines solutions.

    Naturalist

    One of the main reasons people travel to Alaska is to learn about the wildlife and fauna of our great land. Our naturalists provide knowledge and insight into all things Alaska. They provide guests with information on the flora & fauna of the area, animals, Alaska geology, state/national park information, and any other general property location. They perform daily presentations and nature walk for guests and answer any questions they might have. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performing Presentations on Alaskan animals, outdoor safety, and furs. Public speaking for large groups of guests about trained knowledge. 
    • Guiding nature walks while explaining flora and fauna or general information to guests. 
    • Assisting Guests with general questions about the parks, animals, plants they have encountered, or general/property specifics. Assisting guests with luggage and transportation questions. 
    • Organizing and performing daily activities with guests like trivia and happy hour.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs a variety of maintenance tasks on motorcoaches and service vehicles.
    • Routinely, performs preventive and repair maintenance.
    • Maintains maintenance facilities and areas according to established company standards.
    • Performs equipment inspections, determines appropriate action, and performs work.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Level of knowledge in motorcoach and over the road vehicle maintenance, equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree or completion of technical training or certification.
    • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized maintenance inventory or purchasing systems.
    • Two years of experience in positions involving motorcoach maintenance.
    • Current, valid driver's license, with three (3) years clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
    • Must meet Company's clean driver eligibility requirements. 
    • Current, valid Commercial Driver's License, Class B with an air brake endorsement is preferred. (May be obtained through Company training course.)
    • CFC and brake inspector certification is preferred.

    Maintenance Technician

    A Maintenance Assistant performs a variety of tasks to ensure facilities are clean and in good operating condition. Routine general maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds, and equipment is a contributing factor to the safety and satisfaction of both guests and employees. This job ensures that facilities are maintained at the company level standards and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Routinely performs maintenance inspections, checks, and daily rounds.
    • Routinely performs a variety of entry-level maintenance tasks.
    • Assists with preventive and corrective maintenance involving inspections and repairs.
    • Observes operation of facility equipment updates logs in software applications, and other written maintenance and repair records.
    • Communicates verbally via handheld radios and in person for repair calls, troubleshooting, and follow-up with employees and guests on repair status.
    • Interacts with employees and guests including but not limited to answering questions and providing information about the local areas, hotel information, and general service interactions.

    Having fond memories of vacations with loved ones is an important part of travel. Whether it’s celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or “just because”, vacationers want to take home souvenirs that bring them back to an amazing experience or location.  Our retail locations help make this possible. Gift Shop Clerks in certain locations provide knowledge, and guidance and make expresso and coffee drinks to start the morning out right for our guests.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide product knowledge while assisting and directing guests. 
    • Operate cash registers while performing financial transactions and balancing cash drawers including end-of-day accounting duties.

    Do you love to be inspired and challenged daily? You will oversee the entire kitchen operation for specific venue including labor and food costs, employee lifecycle, human resource needs, and scheduling. You will help to develop and enrich sanitation and safety protocols to align with state, local, and Company laws and regulations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • You will work closely with Chef and Food and Beverage management team.
    • Supervision of food production, storage, and sanitation processes.
    • Oversee record keeping, control logs, auditing, and always remember the FIFO for the the management of food cost.
    • Ensure company HESS and sanitation procedures are followed and held the highest standard. You will complete internal audits at regular intervals.
    • Follow all company recipes, and ensure all staff are prepping, preparing and plating to standard.
    • Assist if requested in menu development and creation.
    • Daily presence viewing plates going out to guests and tasting of product being served.
    • Participate in pre-shift and safety meetings with direct reports and staff.
    • Mentor and coach staff to create a team that produces the highest level of products being served to our guests.
    • Ensure that we are able to accommodate dietary restrictions.

    Rooms Division

    Public Areas Attendant

    $16.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    Public Area Attendants set the tone for the entire property.  How the property looks and feels plays a huge part in the guest experience. You will be out and about, ensuring all guest and employee areas are safe and clean according to safety standards. You provide excellent customer service and location information while supporting the overall goals of the company.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs a variety of entry-level housekeeping and delivery tasks.
    • Routinely cleans public areas.
    • Operates cleaning equipment.
    • Makes supplies deliveries and maintains supply closets.
    • Identifies maintenance issues.
    • Respond to guest and management questions and inquiries.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must pass a pre-employment background check. 
    • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
    • Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka “Sustain Alaska & the Yukon”, and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment. 
    • Participate in HAP’s safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals. 
    • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards. 
    • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

    Guest Services

    Guest Service Agent

    $17.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    Provides customer service by listening and responding to guests’ needs and concerns.  Applies knowledge of company products, optional tours, services, local information, policies, procedures, and guidelines to assist guests.  Implements and maintains procedures and policies within established company guidelines.  Participates in guest service activities and programs. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs a variety of moderately difficult customer service tasks.  
    • Applies knowledge of Company products, services, and policies to evaluate customers' needs, provide information, and resolve complaints.    
    • Coordinate guest amenity requests, reservations, and special requests.  
    • Assist customers, employees, and management and responds to queries. 

    REQUIREMENTS

    • One year of experience in positions involving customer service.  
    • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized reservation systems.  
    • Must pass a pre-employment background check that could include a credit check. 
    • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
