We’re hiring a Maintenance Dispatcher to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary:
Responds to requests for maintenance by phone, email, and two-way radio, records all maintenance requests, and communicates maintenance requests to trade staff for response. The Dispatcher also assists in various computer systems data entry tasks as assigned.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $14.90 per hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt to changing procedures in a growing department.
  • Receive work orders by telephone, computer, and two-way radio, ensure that work orders meet criteria, enter into work order system, and determine the appropriate response.
  • Dispatch work orders by two-way radio, and telephone based on extent of problem, electronically distribute work orders by trade. Collaborate with maintenance staff to communicate assignments. Gain understanding of all trades/crafts and employee abilities to perform assigned work orders.
  • Maintain records and distribute two-way radios for trade staff communication.
  • Maintain records and distribute keys for trade staff access.
  • Assist with all activities of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) office, including purchasing, receiving, and data entry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two or more years’ experience in contributing in a team-oriented workspace.
  • Two or more years experience with Windows operating system.
  • Two or more years’ experience Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Dispatch experience.
  • An understanding of facilities maintenance practices and principles.
  • An understanding of Xanterra South Rim department personnel, functions, and facilities.
  • An understanding of trades/crafts in a maintenance setting.
  • An understanding of data systems, and data entry experience.
  • Experience working in an office setting.
