Navigating adventures and safeguarding smiles—dive into fun as a waterfront assistant!
The Waterfront Assistant supports both waterfront and overall camp operations. This position involves aiding in the supervision and management of the camp's swimming and boating programs as well as overseeing activities in the waterfront and boating areas. During off-waterfront hours, responsibilities include managing camper check-in and out processes, maintaining camper information, coordinating daily camp schedules, attending to duties in the dining hall, operating a camp van, and ensuring safety and sanitation across camp facilities.
This position begins in early June and ends in late-August, which includes one week of staff training before campers arrive.
What else should I know about the position?
• Additional certification week (if needed) may include CPR, wilderness first aid, lifeguarding, canoeing, challenge course, hatchet throwing, archery, etc.
• Between 70 -100 campers attend each session of overnight camp at Camp Natarswi.

Requirements:
• Must be 20 years of age or older (per state requirements).
• Previous experience in two or more of the following watercrafts: lifeguarding, sailing, canoe, kayak, or paddleboard.
• Current lifeguard certification or ability to obtain.

• Previous experience working with youth

The CIT unit leader assists in the day-to-day leadership skill building for our older girls in the Counselor–In–Training (CIT) program. This role involves residing within the unit and actively contributing to the overall health and safety of all campers. Responsibilities include devising unit-specific programming tailored to the CITs, collaborating with them to curate and deliver engaging activities for other campers and empowering their autonomy and decision-making within a supportive framework. Guiding both the unit and individual campers to successfully participate in various camp activities while ensuring individual camper needs are met is paramount.

This position begins inmid-June and ends in mid-August, which includes one week of staff training before campers arrive.

The Pondicherry summer team consists of 35- 40 staff members.

Requirements:
• Must be 21 years of age or older (per state requirements).
• Previous experience in two or more of the following watercrafts: lifeguarding, sailing, canoe, kayak, or paddleboard.
• Current lifeguard certification or ability to obtain.

Regular standing and prolonged periods of walking on rough and uneven terrain at camp is required as is working in the heat, sun exposure, and other weather conditions.

The Camp Program Director actively contributes to the development and implementation of a camp program that aligns with the Girl Scout ethos, camping objectives, and the unique needs and interests of the campers. Working in tandem with the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, this position establishes essential routines, schedules, procedures for camp operations, and ensures the proper maintenance of camp property. Additionally, they play a pivotal role in planning and executing staff training and in-service training in coordination with the Camp Director. The Program Director will lead the camp during the absence of the Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director.
Collaborating with the trip advisor, this role involves organizing and executing camper trips off-site and ensuring the completion of pack-outs. Assisting with the opening and closing of the camp and contributing to the overall health and well-being of both campers and staff are integral parts of this position.
The Program Director provides supervision and leadership to all program staff, assuming administrative duties delegated by the Camp Director, including leading staff meetings and large group activities. Being available for camp meetings and aiding in behavior management among campers are crucial aspects of this role. Furthermore, responsibilities include facilitating the transportation of campers or staff during the camp season, aiding in maintaining camper records in CampMinder and handling camper awards, and supporting the general daily operations, including camper and staff schedules.
This position begins in early-June and ends in late-August, which includes one week of staff training before campers arrive.
What else should I know about the position?
• Two weeks paid staff training, including admin training/prep time and all staff training.
• Additional certification week (if needed) may include CPR, wilderness first aid, lifeguarding, canoeing, challenge course, hatchet throwing, archery, etc.
• Between 70 -100 campers attend each session of overnight camp at Camp Natarswi.
• We offer 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-week programs for our campers.
• The Natarswi summer team consists of 25- 32 staff members.
• All staff will work shifts in the kitchen assisting the team with food prep, dishwashing, cleaning equipment, restocking food items, assisting with inventory, or other necessary responsibilities.
