Farm Camp

Currently recruiting for the season from June 1st, 2024 to August 17th, 2024.

Farm Camp offers a traditional summer camp experience on a real working farm. Since 1952, we have taught respect and love of nature. We minimize the impact we have on the earth, practicing and teaching environmental sustainability. Our program focuses on promoting a positive self-image, encouraging friendships and community while practicing a healthy lifestyle.

We are on 500 lush acres of redwood trees, creeks, lakes, and rolling coastal foothills, 1.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. We are nestled in beautiful Sonoma County located in Northern California.

About Farm Camp

At Farm Camp we're all about disconnecting from technology and the high speed pace of everyday life, and reconnecting with ourselves through farm work, exploration of the Northern California redwood forests, and community cultivation. We keep it old school on the farm - we sleep in tents, dance in the barn, and build fires under our cold water tanks every day to have hot showers just before we sit down to dinner!

The Employee Experience

Come live with us amongst the Redwoods. Wake up every morning to the fog lifting off the meadows and to the sounds of farm animals ready for their morning feed. Come help us inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for people who want to make the most of their days! We value hard work and the camaraderie and community that is born out of working to together on the farm. We have a ton of fun in the redwoods and are looking for positive young leaders to mentor our campers, lead activities and chores, and help us continue to grow our inclusive communal culture.

Room and Board

Room and board is included. Each Staff member will get their own tent, while campers will share two per tent. The tents will be set up in units made up of 3-4 counselors and 12-14 campers. Our tents are composed of an 8’x 8′ wooden platform with a canvas tent covering and two 2.5″ inch mattresses that lay flat on the platform. Tents are four-sided and have front flaps which can open entirely to allow for plenty of ventilation during the warm summer days. Each unit is provided with their own sink, blue box (pit toilets), shower, fire circle, picnic table, food prep table, and cooking supplies. Every unit is provided a comfortable space and well-maintained camping amenities, but we do want to make it clear that the experience at Farm Camp is very much an outdoor experience!

Employee Perks

Our biggest perk is living on the Northern California coastline, having access to state park trails, state beaches, and abundant freshwater rivers. Our camp gear and program areas are available for staff to enjoy on their time off as well.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Farm Camp will provide a shuttle to camp from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) before the beginning of Staff Training.

For Fun

Our staff love to make great use of our surrounding areas on their time off. There are plenty of beaches, rivers, and rolling hills to catch some sun and enjoy the down time around our area. Our staff also like to head into one of the nearby towns to go shopping, catch a movie, thrift shop, or enjoy a delicious meal.
