The Elephant Head Lodge is looking for motivated employees to join our summer 2024 crew in the mountains of the Shoshone National Forest outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
We are located 11.7 miles outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, 40 miles west of Cody, Wyoming, and in the Shoshone National Forest.

About Elephant Head Lodge
We are a small, well-established, family-run lodge known for its close proximity to Yellowstone National Park, breathtaking views and wildlife, rural setting, and relaxed atmosphere. We have 15 small cabins that house 2-8 guests per cabin, restaurant, lounge, arrange horseback riding and fishing within walking distance.
Spending a summer working just outside of Yellowstone Park is a lifetime, memorable experience!
Positions start as early as the end of April/early-15th of May and run as late as end of September into October, our season with guests runs from mid-May to end of September, weather permitting. Flexibility in your positions dates may be allowed.
The Employee Experience

Room and Board
Room and board are provided to each employee. Our housing is on the upper end of the property and a couple of minute's walk to our main lodge and restaurant. Generally, living quarters are available for shared two-four person occupancy. Bathrooms are shared. The housing is provided, as well as linens and towels as needed. You are provided with three nutritious meals a day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner at designated times. You may need to help us with staff meals.

Employee wages are based on job requirements, your talents/skills, and determined prior to being hired. A big bonus – room, including utilities, and board are provided, and no drive time or expenses needed to get to work. Getting Here and Getting Around
Our lodge is located 11.7 miles east of Yellowstone National Park’s east entrance and 40 miles west of Cody, Wyoming. The nearest airports are the Cody, Wyoming Airport 40 miles from the lodge or the Billings, Montana airport 150 miles away. We suggest bringing your own vehicle if possible, so you can see the sights away from the lodge on your time and/or day off. Lodge jobs are within walking distance.
For Fun
This is a great area to experience the west and great outdoors. On your time off you can ride horses, fish, hike, camp, view wildlife and beautiful scenery, photograph, relax, journal, draw, paint, music, and/or visit the nearby National Parks. The opportunities are endless!
We are located in the Shoshone National Forest (the oldest and first National Forest) just 11.7 miles from the first National Park, Yellowstone National Park’s East Entrance. Our highway from Cody is often called the most scenic 50 miles in America, as stated by President Theodore Roosevelt. We are 40 miles west of Cody, WY which has the fabulous Buffalo Bill Cody Center of the West, water rafting, nightly rodeos, unique western shopping opportunities, as well as a Walmart.
Current Job Openings
Lodge Worker
Looking for an energetic, hard working, positive worker to help us with multiple duties within our job openings of Chef/cook/kitchen help, Cabin attendant/housekeeping, Bartender, Front desk/receptionist, and/or Maintenance/Landscaping. May in to October, or some variation of that, depending on your schedule and availability.
Bartender
Organizing, operating, maintaining, and inventorying a small rural bar/lounge and entertain our guests mainly in early- to mid-evenings. Must be at least 21 years old. Also be willing to help out in other lodge area positions.
Cabin Attendant/Housekeeping
Clean, inventory, and maintain 15 guest cabins. Other duties will include laundry, cleaning the office, kitchen, restaurant, storage and any other cleanup inside and outside of our facilities. Also to include some plant caretaking and landscaping. CoVid guidleines/restrictions will be followed as necessary. Need to be willing to help in other areas.
Campfire / Lodge Entertainment
Sing, play musical instruments, tell stories, star-watching, etc. to entertain people in the evenings around the campfire or in the lodge, preferably in the “Western, fun, and family” spotlight. Experience preferred. Must be willing to help in other areas.
Chef/Cook/Kitchen
We offer guests breakfast and dinner. We need “front-” &/or “back-” house employees to serve as Chef, Cook, prep cook, line cook, host guests, waiter/waitress, bus tables, serve alcohol, run cash register and credit card machine, dishwasher, inventory/ordering supplies, checking in shipments, campfires, prepare lunches, prepare staff meals, kitchen and restaurant cleanup. Team work is extremely important. Chef/cook position - experience preferred, but not required. CoVid guidelines will be followed as necessary/required. Need to be willing to help in other lodge areas.
Maintenance / Landscaping
Position may include maintenance and/or landscaping duties. Maintain inside and outside of cabins, other buildings, and grounds, as well as possible vehicles. May include plumbing, electrical, woodworking, carpentry, and special projects. Landscaping includes groundskeeping, planting, watering, pruning/trimming, weedwacking, mowing, and tending flowers. Position also includes cutting, splitting, and hauling/stacking firewood. Safety is a priority. Must be self-motivated and a handy-person. Experience preferred, but not required. Must be willing to help in other lodge areas.
Front Desk/Receptionist/Bookkeeper
Must be organized, a “happy” people person, friendly, communication skills, have an ability to schedule guests, make reservations, answer the phone, deal with guests in a positive way, multi-task, think quickly, answer questions, gift shop clerk, run a cash register and credit card machines, bookkeeping assistant, help arrange & schedule horse rides and other area attractions, ordering, computer skills, check-ins and check-outs. Experience preferred, but not required. CoVid guidelines/restrictions will be followed. Must be willing to help in other lodge areas.
