Lift Operations is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of our customers on chair lifts, carpet conveyor and surface lifts. This is an outdoor and physically demanding position. Daily duties include shoveling and manicuring snow on loading and unloading areas. Lift Operations is a team-oriented department focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service.
Under the supervision of the Lift Operations Managers, Supervisors and Lead Operators, the Lift Operator shall be required to:
-Comply with the A.N.S.I. code B77.1 section 4.3.2.3.3 2006, which states the duties of the operations.
Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves courteously interacting with customers and being able to answer questions professionally.
- Assist with the daily operation of your assigned ski lift, including the inspecting and checking of the lift before operation, while maintaining the lift house, equipment, and surrounding area throughout your shift to ensure they remain in a neat and orderly manner.
- Continually remain vigilant to the needs of both the equipment and the skiing/boarding customers and react to those needs protectively while maintaining quality service.
- Maintain carriers, loading and unloading areas, platforms, and ramps, (shoveling), in such a manner as to make it easy for the skiers/boarders to load and unload with a high degree of care and efficiency.
- Provide timely and accurate information concerning weather conditions, grooming or slope conditions, and related information intended to help the customer maximize their skiing experience.
- Communicate problems to superiors, while showing initiative in handling routine and emergencies.
- Maintain any appropriate records as set forth by company policy and procedures.
- Safe operation and inspection of RFID gates.
- Actively and efficiently assist with maze control.
- Support and promote company policies and procedures.
- Keep updated on current events at Dodge Ridge.
- Requires communication with other departments in a professional manner.
- Possess knowledge in rope rescue skills; assist in lift evacuations.
- Comply to and enforce safety rules and policies.
- -Be knowledgeable of and promote hill safety, risk awareness, and good housekeeping procedures.
- Be prepared for walking and working on uneven ground, deep powder, and icy and wet surfaces.
