- Daily routine machine checks including tire pressure, oil checks, air filters.
- Cleaning air filters
- Oil changes
- Tire Patching, Changing and Balancing
- On trail machine recovery, changing flat tires, broken tire rods etc.
- Machine power washing.
- Loading and unloading fleet machines on trailers.
- Routine maintenance for new model Jeep Wranglers, and Shuttle Vehicles including tire rotations, oil changes, patching chipped windshields, battery testing, etc.
- Logging shop inventory
- Working in conjunction with company GMs to plan required projects
- Checking in and out ATV rental fleet.
- Pre and Post Season assistance with de-winterization and winterization of machines.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Must have strong verbal communications skills

- Some experience in a customer service environment

- 2-5 years’ experience working in an automotive and/or ATV shop
- Familiarity with fleet management software
- Experience working on Yamaha, and Polaris UTV and ATV’s, as well as Jeep vehicles

- Experience working in seasonal tourism/ communal housing setting is a major plus
- Prior visitation to Denali
- Experience conducting routine services and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose issues
- Establish a warm and friendly relationship with guests in person, on the phone, or via e-mail. You will be required to actively engage with local foot-traffic.
- Manage reservations through an online reservation system and conduct retail sales including the management of cash, credit cards, and POS system.
- Work with independent travel agents, cruise lines, and online booking companies to complete third-party reservations.
- Be knowledgeable of all aspects of the ATV tours to assist customers in booking tours and properly answer all customer inquiries.
- Help prepare guests for their tour by ensuring all guests meet participant requirements and tactfully handle situations where guests do not meet requirements.
- Solve problems that invariably arise with logistics, tour coordination, large group booking, rescheduling, and customer service issues.
- Effectively communicate with Shuttle Drivers and Tour Managers to convey reservation changes and address any additional needs of the guests.
- Review reservations and tour manifests for accuracy.
- Work as a team with other Tour Representatives.
- Assist with facility upkeep and maintenance including cleaning and organizing.
- You may be required to help transport guests to the tour launch location. This means being able to engage with people outside of the office setting.
- The workday starts at 6:30am and goes to 10:00pm or later during peak season.
- In order to stay current on the actual tour experience, routine participation on ATV tours is required.
- High school degree or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
- Position uses company vehicles, so clean driving history and motor vehicle record is needed.

- Applicants with previous experience in customer service, sales, and/or reservations especially in the seasonal tourism field will be given priority.
- Directly engage with guests for the entire shift.
- Required to lead guests into the wilderness and through our trail systems by safely navigating the terrain and obstacles. Help novice drivers understand how to operate an ATV.
- Required to speak in front of large groups of guests, informing them on the sights they are seeing and entertaining them. The ability to hold a conversation with a stranger for several minutes is a crucial aspect of this position.
- Speak knowledgeably about the area, providing facts and answers to guest’s questions. We will provide you with a foundation of knowledge, but it is imperative that you show a curiosity and interest in continuing to learn about Alaska. The more you know, the more confident you can be as a leader on tour.
- Sometimes be required to make difficult judgment calls for the safety of our guests. This can include switching guests to an alternate unit, recognizing trail conditions and adapting quickly, and being mindful of the tour pacing.
- The workday goes from 8 am until midnight during our busy season.
- You will be dirty and wet on the job more often than not. The position requires you to be comfortable and prepared for all weather, including rain, snow, fog, thunderstorms, the byproducts of wildfires, as well as sunshine. It is important that you understand what it takes to work in these conditions, as weather is a constant factor in our work.
- Basic understanding of the mechanical aspects of the ATVs is required, in order to help point out maintenance needs as they occur.
- This job requires First Aid and CPR certifications. You are not required to be a first responder, but you will need to be able to keep a level head during emergency medical situations.
- Daily list of duties will include power washing, drying, fueling, and parking ATVs. Additionally, you will be required to clean helmets, goggles and gloves.
- Required to perform trail maintenance. This is manual labor with tools such as pickaxes, shovels, and rakes.
- Flexible with your schedule and take things in stride, especially during the peak season. Overtime, private tours, and long work weeks may be necessary.

- Transport guests to and from our ATV site and their pickup locations.
- Make sure all guests listed on manifest are accounted for and on the bus. If there are changes, quickly and effectively communicate the updates.
- Be in constant communication with Tour Reps and Tour Managers via phone and text.
- Knowledge about our tours and the trail area is crucial to your performance. Guests will ask questions, so your understanding of our product and the area is a necessity.
- Required to perform walk-around and pre-trip inspection sheet.
- Required to clean the inside and outside of your shuttle during and at the end of your shift.
- It will be your responsibility to monitor and maintain your fuel level and report any maintenance concerns to the mechanics.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to collecting Participation agreements and paperwork, transporting staff, courier duties, and light tour sales.
