Hospitality Excellence. Breathtaking Natural Beauty.
More than 7,000 years ago, a fierce eruption shook the 12,000-foot-tall Mount Mazama, triggering the mountain’s collapse. Now, at 1,943 feet, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States. With a variety of careers available, you’ll have a unique opportunity to live, work, and play in the ultimate outdoor playground. Crater Lake is just the place for you!
Our operations are on the rim of the crater, overlooking Crater Lake and surrounded by mountains in southern Oregon.
About Crater Lake Hospitality
Crater Lake Hospitality offers careers across hospitality, retail, culinary, operations, food service, marina, and maintenance. It’s the perfect place to pursue what matters, whether you’re looking for a seasonal opportunity or ready to build a long-lasting career.
After becoming a national park in 1902, Crater Lake Lodge was built in 1915 to provide overnight accommodations to visitors of the southwest rim of the lake. Today, our operations still sit on the rim of the crater, overlooking Crater Lake and surrounded by the mountains of southern Oregon. Crater Lake sees its busiest seasons in the spring, summer, and fall but still operates with a skeleton crew in the winter!
The Employee Experience
No two days are the same with Aramark Destinations! Employees come to Crater Lake from all over the world; with such a diverse staff, you’ll be part of a community that encourages cultural exchange and knowledge sharing.
You’ll have the opportunity to spend your days building a career in hospitality and your free time enjoying the outdoors. Employees also can join planned recreational activities and outings to other parks and towns.
Ideal Candidate
Our employees work together to create great experiences for our customers and guests! If you have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and are seeking the experience of living, working, and learning in a beautiful setting, Crater Lake is the perfect place to pursue what matters to you and your career. Here, you’ll be surrounded by supportive leaders and passionate teammates, all while having access to amazing career opportunities.
Crater Lake employees love where we work, share a passion for hospitality, and believe in the mission of the National Park Service.
Room and Board
At Crater Lake, employees live onsite in dorm-style housing with two to four occupants per room. Some dorms have individual or adjoining bathrooms, and others have communal, gender-separated bathrooms. Amenities vary based on your location in the park. Rent is $8.50/day and is payroll deducted.
There are two Employee Dining Rooms and discounts are offered at food operations throughout the park. There are also community kitchens for those who prefer to cook their own meals. Gyms, laundry facilities, and community spaces are located in both dorm areas.
During the summer months, there are also a limited amount of RV spots available for employees.
Employee Perks
Working at Crater Lake is a special experience, and we want to make sure that our employees are able to make the most of living, working, and learning here for the season. As part of the Aramark team, you’ll have access to:
- Competitive wages in a remote setting that provide a great opportunity for savings
- Low-cost meals in Employee Dining Rooms and no mandatory or automatic meal expenses
- Free wi-fi in employee housing
- Discounts at stores and restaurants onsite
- Discounts on activities inside the park and at other Aramark properties
- Planned activities, adventures, and shopping trips with teammates
Getting Here and Getting Around
If you choose to travel by air to Oregon, you’ll need to fly into Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport (MFR). The team will coordinate a shuttle to bring employees from Medford to Crater Lake. Employees are also welcome to drive to the park, but parking can be extremely limited during the summer season. A shuttle can transport employees to and from Mazama and Rim Village, but staff members are encouraged to walk if able. Vehicles must be registered in advance with the Housing Department.
Public transportation is limited to and from Klamath Falls via Amtrak shuttle, which operates late June through early October. Additionally, the park’s North Entrance is closed for about 7 months of the year, but the park’s South and West Entrances are open year-round.
For Fun
Crater Lake offers a rare opportunity to explore and experience nature at its finest. The park is perfect for nature lovers, hikers, campers, stargazers, photographers, and anyone ready for their next big adventure.
The team also provides fun activities for staff throughout the season, including movie nights, hiking trips, holiday celebrations, out-of-park trips, karaoke nights, and employee appreciation events!
