- Sleeps in cabin with a group of 8-10 campers and 2 co-counselors
- Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, skill growth, and general well-being during their 9-12 day overnight stay at CBW
- Plans, leads, and implements intentional camp programming for campers that keeps campers engaged, and having fun
- Provides high-quality educational, recreational, and enjoyable indoor and outdoor activities for campers throughout their stay at CBW
- Assists campers with daily living skills as necessary (facilitating a shower schedule, naps, etc.)
- Maintains a schedule for campers and reviews the all-camp schedule daily
- Organizes and leads small and large group activities, ranging from name games to evening activities
- Communicates with co-counselors and camp staff to address needs, wants, or issues that may range from within the cabin to all of camp
- Ensures the cleanliness of the cabin and camp site
- Maintains accurate records, daily behavioral logs as needed, and camper evaluations
- Reports any behavioral incidents to supervisor through written and verbal communication
- Understands all emergency procedures and protocols put in place within the camp
- Is aware of and comprehends all their campers’ dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the appropriate meals/snacks are distributed to them
- Mediates and facilitates campers’ discussions (ranging from debriefs to disputes)
- Knows, follows, and enforces all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, this includes knowing the whereabouts of campers, emergency procedures, and appropriate dress code
- Participates and engages in thoughtful feedback during staff meetings, and trainings
- Communicates effectively with direct supervisors by listening, giving feedback, and following camp protocol
- Understands and promotes our four pillars of respect, identity, inclusion, and community throughout their employment at CBW

- Overnight and live in position (during camp season, up to 10 weeks)
- Vigilant enough to supervise and engage with 8-10 campers at once

- Patient in high pressure situations that deal with camper issues including but not limited to camper anxiety, facilitation of large crowds, homesickness
- Must be willing to work long days with adequate breaks in between (1 hour off per day, nights off, 36hrs off after every session, and 24hrs off every session)
- Flexibility to take on and succeed at multiple positions throughout the program
- Organizational skills
- Will be asked to work with campers of all ages and genders
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in various climates including but not limited to walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, lifting 10-15lbs, swimming, and more.
- At least 1 year of experience in either a camp, youth program, recreational work, social work, speech therapy, babysitting, mental health fields educational environment or in a related field
- First Aid and CPR certification required before first summer session begins (Camp will provide unpaid day program to get certified)

Job Overview and Specific Responsibilities:
The Arts’ Coordinator is a member of our CBW Summer Leadership Staff and is supervised by the Program Director. The Arts program’s creativity and ingenuity allows campers to build identity and learn to express themselves throughout their stay at CBW. The Arts’ Coordinator plans and implements crafts, music, skits, camp décor, and dances related to the summer program and curriculum. In doing so, campers learn and grow in identity and expression through creative outlets. A successful Arts’ Coordinator supports and supervises the staff within their department (roughly 5 staff members). The Art Coordinator is responsible for developing and running programs within their department (arts and crafts, dance, music, theater, etc.), as well as leading training sessions during pre-camp orientation. One of camp’s most engaging programmatic areas is our athletics and ropes departments, where campers learn about teamwork, identity, winning, losing, and inclusivity. One of the main jobs of the Athletics Coordinator is to ensure that programs and ropes/athletics staff are able facilitate these different values alongside our four camp pillars of respect, inclusion, identity, and community.

Village Coordinators are a part of our summer leadership team at CBW. They play an integral role in creating a magical summer camp experience to our campers. Photography Coordinator

Job Overview and Specific Responsibilities:
The role of the Photography Coordinator is to capture daily life at camp with photography and make those beautiful moments available to camper guardians via our guardian portal and social media. supports and supervises the staff within their department (1 staff member). The Photography Coordinator is a member of the Leadership Staff and are supervised by the Program Director. This position is responsible for ensuring that photos are taken of campers and staff throughout the different program areas, edits photos, and works towards posting photos to Camp Bob Waldorf’s social media accounts. Applicants should have at least one year of previous camp experience and be able to train, supervise, and evaluate counselors. Applicants should have extensive experience working with children and be able to work with various behavior and developmental issues as they arise.

Backpacking Instructor
Reports to: Program Director
Witherbee Counselor Overview:
Witherbee is Camp Bob Waldorf’s backpacking wilderness program. Offered in partnership with Outward Bound California and Lasting Adventures Backpacking Program, High Sierra CA Backpacking Outdoor Education | Outward Bound this 10-day program features time at Camp Bob Waldorf plus a rugged 7-day backpacking trip through beautiful landscapes such as Big Basin Redwoods State Park and Yosemite National Park. No electricity, no electronics, no plumbing…just the campers, their guides, and the great outdoors! The Witherbee Counselor serves as a form of emotional support to campers while on trail. Witherbee Counselors should have experience in hiking, camping, and be will equipped to manage a various of emotions such as but not limited to, homesickness, doubt, etc. This position is physically challenging, for counselors as well as campers will be hiking through mountainous terrain carrying 30-40lbs of equipment and supplies. Staff and campers will be cooking on open flame and living outdoors in tents for the duration of their trip.
