Angel Fire Bike Park is in search of quality machine operators with experience and motivation to help continue building the 60+ miles of trail in the bike park. We are looking to expand with easier greens for beginners, blues for intermediate riders as well as maintaining and updating existing trails.

Base Pay: Depends on Experience
Location: Angel Fire Resort Bike Park
Employee Type: Hourly, non-exempt
Job Category: Seasonal - full-time or part-time (Could turn to Benefitted Year Round Work involving Grooming and Snowmaking)
Leadership Responsibilities: No
Required Certs or Licenses: Current Non-Expired Driver's License
Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled
Estimated start date: April
Minimum Age: 21
Typical Shift: 8am-5pm
Environment: This is a physically demanding outdoor position. Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift and regularly lift/carry 75lbs. This is a do-whatever-it-takes job that requires the ability to work in varied environments
Housing: Limited employee housing is available upon request. “Dorm-style” starts at only $450/month. Other options available. A list of local rental resources is also available upon request.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Safely operates machinery such as excavators, skid steers, dozers
- Uses hand tools such as rakes, picks, shovels
- Safely operates chainsaws
- Construct new single-track trails
- Maintain existing trails
- Re-build and create new sections for existing trails
- Create designs with Bike Park Manager
- Understand gravity-fed mountain bike trail layout, erosion mitigation, durability construction
- Have a keen eye for trail safety design on all trails and features construction (creating safe trails for all skill levels)
- Self-motivated individual who takes pride in constructing awesome bike trails with amazing flow
- Create trails with the skill level of the rider in mind: greens, blues, black diamonds
Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience working on a trail crew running excavators, skid steers, dozers at a gravity park.
- Experience with creating new machine-benched trail with quality jumps, berms and features
- Must be able to ride a downhill mountain bike at an advanced level, maintaining control in all conditions and on all runs.
- Must have experience with hand tools, heavy machinery, and chainsaws as well as basic woodworking and maintenance skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with driving record insurable under resort insurance.
Other: Must provide own downhill mountain biking gear.
