Camp Cook in Remote Alaska!! Off grid tent camp!

Cook needed at our Alaska Wilderness SAFARI operation for the 2024 summer season.

Do you think you have what it takes to work in a rugged, remote and unforgiving environment that will challenge you both physically and mentally?

Alaska Wilderness SAFARI is a unique fly fishing camp located in a VERY remote region of the Alaska Peninsula where the bears outnumber the people. We offer a week long “trip of a lifetime” for up to 9 guests per week and need professional, hard working, serious, team oriented (no ego-maniacs), NON-ALCOHOLIC and DRUG-FREE people with a passion for the outdoors and hospitality.

Your biggest challenges as the cook are (1) personally coping with a wilderness setting (a.k.a. “the elements”) and (2) working in an area with limited culinary resources (limited power, limited supply chain).

Everybody thinks they want to work in Alaska, but the work is NOT for everybody. Our work is perpetual and strenuous and is anything but your “great Alaskan vacation.” However, we have one of the most beautiful “offices” you can imagine...

Duration

• Early to mid August thru end of September

Salary

• Depends on experience + weekly tips when clients present

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast and dinner (no lunch) for approximately 15 people/day
• Clean cook tent daily and wash dishes as you cook
• Develop the season’s menu (existing menus already exist)
• Prepare pre-season grocery and supply list
• Manage and order weekly perishable food items (delivered once per week)
• Help carry groceries and camp supplies
• Help with set up and break down of camp
