Sockeye Cycle is hiring for a Skagway-based Tour Manager to coordinate the scheduling and logistics for our Skagway bicycle tours. This position combines team leadership, organization, & attention to detail with a fun, fast-paced work environment. 

This is a full-time, seasonal position based in Skagway, Alaska from late April through early October, 2024. The position also has to possibility to continue as a part-time position in the off-season, either based in Skagway or fully remote. 

The Skagway Tour Manager works with an Assistant Tour Manager and reports to the Operations Manager. This team is responsible for coordination and scheduling with tour partners, oversight and scheduling of a team of 12-14 guides, overall business communication with partners and customers, and coordination with the other Sockeye Cycle location. Additional duties include oversight and maintenance of tour equipment, occasional tour guiding and driving, and general office tasks and record keeping.

The ideal candidate will have a background leading a team, working with outdoor guiding/education, and experience managing logistics and working with people. Experience with online booking platforms, point of sale systems, and general email and Office suite proficiency is desired. Additional experience with accounting software like Quickbooks, business social media, and website development using WordPress is beneficial.

Base pay for this position starts at $4000 per month with subsidized housing included and an end of season bonus up to 10% of total wages. Having significant prior experience or having existing housing in Skagway would increase starting base pay. A health-insurance stipend and IRA match is available for year-round positions, including this position with PT remote off-season work.
