    7 Gables Inn & Suites in Fairbanks, AK is looking for housekeepers to clean and maintain short-term travel rentals. Must be willing to relocate to Fairbanks, AK!

    Starting pay is $15/hr. We offer travel reimbursement, employee housing options, and opportunity for advancement.

    Housekeeping responsibilities include cleaning and tidying rooms, restocking room supplies and toiletries, making beds, doing laundry, and other general housekeeping tasks.

    We have full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal positions available.

    For those who gain experience working with our unique housing options, there exists opportunity for advancement to assistant manager, for which responsibilities include (in addition to general housekeeping duties) inspecting rooms to prepare them for tenancy and managing other housekeepers.

    Drywall Installer/Tapers

    Job Summary:

    The Drywall Installer and Taper will secure drywall panels to the interior of residential, commercial, and other types of construction and will prepare the drywall for painting or finishing.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Measures and cuts drywall panels to fit in and around specific spaces such as doors, windows, electrical outlets, and lighting fixtures.
    • Installs drywall panels to wood or metal studs.
       

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to work independently and with a work crew.
    • Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installing drywall.
       

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to lift 70 pounds at a time to lift and move drywall panels

    Manager responsibilities include (in addition to general housekeeping duties) inspecting rooms to prepare them for tenancy, making reservations, handling deposits, checking in guests, and managing other housekeepers.

    Prospective managers must spend some time training with our housekeeping staff under the general manager until they have gained the experience necessary to manage our unique housing options. Duties include cleaning and tidying rooms, restocking room supplies and toiletries, making beds, doing laundry, and other general housekeeping tasks.

    Starting pay is $15/hr. during training. We offer travel reimbursement, employee housing options, and opportunity for advancement.

    Office IT Technician

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
    • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
    • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
    • Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
    • Setting up accounts for new users
    • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
    • Testing new technology
       

    Requirements:

    • Be familiar with VOIP phones, remote dial phones, Wi-Fi Ubiquiti products and software
    • Knowledge on website upgrades & advertising on various platforms

    Drywall Finisher

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
    • Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
    • Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
       

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • At least 1 year of experience as a drywall finisher.
    • Valid driver’s license preferred
    • Good knowledge of the tools, materials, and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing.

Alaska 7 Ventures started with only the 7 Gables Inn, a former fraternity house converted to a hotel. Since then we've grown, now operating the 7 Gables Inn & Suites, Abbey Archway Inn, Fairbanks Extended Stays, and Fairbanks International Hostel, and we're still growing!

We operate a bed and breakfast (9 rooms), extended stay hotel (40 units), long-term monthly rentals (15 units), and a backpackers hostel (15 beds). We have a constant need for housekeeping staff who can keep up with the varied and unique housing options we offer.

We construct our properties ourselves and are currently in need of sheet rockers/tapers.

Room and Board

We have myriad employee housing options available. Almost any of our rental properties can be occupied by employees, from trailers to tree houses, tiny homes to studio apartments, we have it all. 

The cost for employee housing varies depending on the accommodations requested. We have breakfast (and coffee) available for employees in the mornings after our usual breakfast is supplied for guests.

Getting Here and Getting Around

We can offer travel ticket compensation for anyone traveling from outside of Fairbanks. This can be discussed in your interview. 

Once here, Fairbanks is a small enough town and that makes transportation easy. You can get around town on a bicycle, or on the bus (free). If you elect to occupy employee housing, there's hardly any commute at all!

You can get to most of our properties using the bus, and the bus from the airport comes close by. 

For Fun

In the Golden Heart city, there's no shortage of adventure. In the summer, there's plenty of hiking and cross country running at Birch Hill, music at the Gazebo Night's at Pioneer Park and at the UAF Botanical Gardens, and culturally important events like the Festival of Native Arts and the World Eskimo Indian Olympics, fishing at the Chena Lakes State Recreation Site, canoeing in the Chena River, and so much more!

In the winter, there's skiing and snowboarding, snow machining, snowshoeing, dog-sledding, and plenty more winter sports to supplement the winter. You'll never find a better spot to view the Aurora than up on Esther Dome, just a hop, skip and a jump away from our properties.
